Batman star Robert Pattinson on how he achieved 'prize-winning w**k' film scene

Robert Pattinson is most well known for being teen heartthrob Edward Cullen in the Twilight films.

However the actor, who has been cast as the new Batman, is certainly sexing up his image these days.

Pattinson, 33, has opened up about how he achieve a “prize-winning w**k” in a masturbation scene from new film The Lighthouse.

The psychological horror film, released last year, saw Pattinson and Willem Dafoe play two lighthouse keepers who start to lose their sanity when a storm strands them on the remote island where they are stationed.

Talking about the “ferocious masturbation scene”, which was shot on the first day of filming, Pattinson said: “It was fun doing it on the first day, it was an icebreaker.

Asked if he wanted to impress director Robert Eggers, the actor continued telling Timeout: “We’d just done a week of rehearsals where I’d basically hidden everything from him.

“I felt I had to prove myself on the first day, so I went [for] the most extreme and grotesque… grotesquery.”

Probed on how he achieved the “prize-winning w**k”, Pattinson bizarrely replied: “Throw up on yourself… They didn’t use that take in the end, it was a bit too much.”

It was confirmed this week that filming is currently underway on upcoming The Batman film.
