Emily Atack spills details on love life admitting lockdown has made things hard

Emily Atack has candidly opened up about her “colourful” love life and has admitted that lockdown has been difficult as a single woman.

The Celebrity Juice team captain, 30, made the admission on This Morning favourite Alison Hammond’s brand new podcast My Life in TV, which launched on Monday.

ITV’s first branded podcast will see TV personalities chatting to Alison, 45, about their most loved shows, opening up about their career highs and lows, as well as the telly that shaped their childhoods.

Emily was Alison’s first guest of the series, and the bubbly former Big Brother contestant couldn’t wait to talk to the comedian about her dating life.

An inquisitive Alison asked: “What about your love life. Everything good in that area?

Emily replied: “It’s always up and down.”

Alison probed: “Are we up or are we down at the moment?”

“It’s complicated. Lockdown is proving to be very difficult for single people,” Emily confessed.

“It’s made me realise what I live for. I live to go out and flirt and go on dates.

“As a single woman, it’s what we wanna do and we can’t do that right now. It’s difficult.”

The reality star went on to tell Alison that she’s had a “colourful” love life and she is keen to let people know that it is ok to be single.

“I’ve had a series of boyfriends, flings and I have had colourful love life,” the Inbetweeners star admitted.

“We’re judged on our love life as women and people start going ‘hurry it up’ when you reach 30 or ‘must be something wrong with her if she’s single’.

“I feel so strongly about this and it is ok to be single.”

During a quick fire round, Alison asked Emily a series of questions from her guilty pressure viewing to her current telly crush.

Emily confessed: “Paul Maskell from Normal People is so fit.”

Alison added: “The Irish guy? He is so fit. I love him.”

Emily has opened up about her dating life and career lows

“Do you know what I Dm’d him to tell him how good the show was and he ignored me.

Emily agreed: “He’s so fit. It’s actually painful.”

She may have bagged herself her own self-titled ITV2 show but Emily has revealed that her career hasn’t also been plain-sailing.

She explained: “Just before I’m A Celebrity I was going through a strange sort of phase in my life.

“Right up until that point I’d been typecast as the blonde girl next door type.

“I was getting a bit older and those roles sort of roles stopped coming in. I couldn’t play those sexy school girls anymore.”

The TV personality admitted that she took it personally and the rejection knocked her confidence.

She continued: “I had no money, I was heartbroken from a relationship and I was a bit lost in life and I just felt like I wasn’t getting the jobs I should have been getting.

“I hit a wall with everything and I needed some excitement in my life. When the jungle came knocking it was the most perfect time.

“Before the jungle I felt a lot of rejection and the jungle helped me overcome it all.”
