Jeremy Clarkson makes shameless dig at Millionaire cheat Charles Ingram

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host Jeremy Clarkson threw some serious shade at gameshow cheat Charles Ingram, who was found guilty of conning the ITV show in 2003, alongside his wife Diana and an accomplice Tecwen Whittock.

The trio were thrust back into the spotlight earlier this week when ITV broadcast three-part drama Quiz, which saw the gameshow’s rise to popularity and the Ingram cheating scandal play out.

The highly-publicised scam saw Tecwen Whittock allegedly cough at the correct answers, helping Charles make his way to the top prize of £1million.

Jeremy, 60, was gearing up to throw his own virtual quiz on YouTube, when he made an obvious dig at Charles Ingram with a cough of his own.

The former Top Gear front man tweeted: “Greetings. At 7 o’clock this evening on the DriveTribe YouTube channel, I’m going to be hosting a pub quiz.

“It’s rubbish and there’s no prize money but it’s very easy to cheat. You don’t even have to cough.”

The controversial star added: “So, see you then. What else are going to be doing? Watching Channel 4 News?”

Quiz brought the cheating scandal back to the forefront of the media this week, with the cheating storm replayed in front of the nation.

The first episode saw ITV bosses come up with Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, with the British public immediately taking to it.

Viewers watched the Ingrams become obsessed with the show, coming up with a way to get on the show and how to win, alongside a secret network.

In the second episode, Charles went on to win the top spot, however production were suspicious and pulled his prize and episodes.

The finale saw the trio of defendants hauled in front of a jury for the scam, before they were all found guilty.

It starred Michael Sheen as original host Chris Tarrant, doing a spot-on impersonation.
