Actor Elliot Page 'is getting a divorce from wife Emma Portner' after 3 years

Elliot Page has filed for divorce from his wife Emma Portner, according to reports.

It comes after The Umbrella Academy actor, formerly known as Ellen Page, told fans he was transgender in a brave and emotional post on his Instagram page.

Elliot, 33, and Emma, 26, were married in a ceremony in January 2018.

Sadly, just three years later the couple were reported to be going their separate ways, according to TMZ.

In his most recent post on social media, Elliot thanked his fans for their support following his announcement, and was incredibly grateful.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your love and support has been the greatest gift.

“Stay safe. Be there for each other. If you are able, support @transanta and @translifeline. See you in 2021 Xoxo Elliot,” the actor added.

It came just two months after Elliot wrote a long and heartfelt letter to the world detailing that he is trans.

“Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” he told his 4.5million followers. “I feel lucky to be writing this.

“To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me along this journey.

“I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self. I’ve been endlessly inspired by so many in the trans community. Thank you for your courage, your generosity and ceaselessly working to make this world a more inclusive and compassionate place. I will offer whatever support I can and continue to strive for a more loving and equal society.

Elliot also warned he was fragile at the time of writing and asked for patience and care from his fans.

He also feared “hate”, “jokes” and “violence” from a judgemental world, but assured he wasn’t trying to dampen a happy moment as he celebrated his truth.

“I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive,” the star added.

“To all the trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse, and the threat of violence every day: I see you, I love you, and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better.”
