Love Island 2021 stars wear sunglasses in bed to protect eyes from bright lights

Love Island contestants have settled into life in the luxury villa but there’s one thing that seems to be bugging fans watching at home.

Eagle-eyed viewers have noticed is that the stars of the ITV2 dating show tend to wake up wearing sunglasses.

Fans have spotted the likes of Liberty Poole, Chloe Burrows and Hugo Hamonnd sporting shades on their face as soon as they lift their head off the pillow.

Taking to Twitter, one fan tweeted: “Why do they wear sunglasses as soon as they wake up?”

Another asked: “The first thing you do when you wake up is put on sunglasses?”

A third person wondered: “I’m not really understanding the whole waking up and reaching for sunglasses.”

One keen viewer had the theory that past contestants had said it is because the bedroom lights are very bright first thing in the morning.

“Are the lights really THAT bright to be wearing sunglasses?” the Twitter user said.

Bringing up bodily functions, another asked: “Do these lot wear sunglasses when they wake up to hide their eye crust or what?? #loveisland,” to which someone else replied: “I think it’s the bright lights in the bedroom.”

Former Love Island villa dweller, Elma Pazar, who took part in the fifth series of Love Island in 2019,, came to the rescue to set the record straight.

Replying to a fan, the reality star typed: “The light is so bright when it flicks on and also I don’t know many people that wake up pretty in the mornings, the more of the face hidden before it’s washed the better,” with laughing face emojis.

In a dramatic twist from normality Monday’s episode of Love Island ended with no preview leaving viewers fearing for the fate of their favourite Islanders.

The first episode of the week finally brought famous Casa Amor into action with the boys sneaking over to the villa under the instructions of the show’s producers.

While nothing on Monday’s show appeared to out of the ordinary the ending certainly unsettled fans, reports OK!.

Normally each episode of Love Island would end with a preview clip, a standard tactic adopted to ensure viewers tune into the next show.

However Monday’s programme ended with Liam Reardon, who is coupled up with Millie Court, in the beach hut taking to the show’s makers.

He said: “At the end of the day, I am a flirt, I do like flirting.

“I prefer flirting with Millie, but then, you know, I may flirt with other people as well. You know, f**king hell,” he giggled before falling back on the chair.

Fans will have to wait and see the boys have been up too in Casa Amor?
