Piers Morgan accuses Adele of 'selling son's divorce pain' with new album

Piers Morgan hits out at Adele calling her “shameful” and “hypocritical” for selling her son’s divorce pain with new album, 30.

Adele divorced her husband Simon Konecki in 2019 and has recently discussed how her new album is about her split and the difficult times her son faced.

In the Hello hitmaker’s new song, My Little Love, it seems her son can be heard trying to stop his mum crying, she sings: “I’m so sorry if what I’ve done makes you feel sad.”

“Tell me you love me”, Adele begs in one clip, the voice responds: “I’II love you, one million per cent. I feel like you like me too.”

Piers Morgan, has referred to Adele wanting to protect her son’s privacy in court battles in his Daily Mail column.

He said: “How does Adele’s determined battle to seek privacy for her son sit with her now using him in such a shameless way to flog her album?”

Piers continued: “Has she given a moment’s thought to how Angelo might feel when he grows up to have had his agonising conversations with his sobbing mum about her decision to dump his dad broadcast to the world?”

The 56-year-old journalist added that he likes Adele: “But she’s crossed a line by exposing her young son’s innermost feelings to public scrutiny in such a soul-baring, intimate way.

“And worse, she’s done it for attention, money, and sales. Sorry, Adele – but I find that shameful, and given all your pleas for privacy, horribly hypocritical.”

In 2012 Adele declared to Vogue magazine: “I’m never writing a break-up album again,” after releasing her second album 21.

The 33-year-old has remained extremely private since then but since her comeback more about her life has been revealed.

Her latest song Easy On Me, was written with Angleo in mind to help with any questions.

She told British Vogue: “I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness.

“It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal.”

Adele’s new album 30 is due to be released at the end of this week.
