Piers Morgan slams Dominic Raab after Kate Garraway Good Morning Britain clash

Piers Morgan dubbed politician Dominic Raab “extraordinarily arrogant” after he clashed with Kate Garraway.

Good Morning Britain’s Kate was putting questions to the Cabinet Minister alongside co-host Ben Shephard.

Regular GMB hosts Piers and Susanna Reid are enjoying a week off as schools take their half term breaks, and things got fiery in their absence.

The Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs was on Wednesday’s show – but Piers was watching on at home.

He took aim on Twitter after the heated guest appearance while on a week off.

Mr Raab appeared on a video call to discuss the government’s new policy of quarantine hotels.

The move sees people returning from “red list” countries forced to isolate for 10 days in one of 16 designated hotels in a bid to contain coronavirus outbreaks.

But he and Kate clashed after he accused her of not letting him finish answering the questions.

Kate said that viewers may be wondering why he was discussing other countries amid the UK government’s “shambolic” response to the pandemic.

The minister accused the presenter of being “cynical” when she criticised the quarantine “chaos”.

Mr Raab said: “I think it’s rather cynical what you have suggested, I don’t think it’s fair at all. This debate has been set well in advance.”

But Kate wasn’t having it, and replied: “Hang on, I wasn’t saying anything cynical – we were told you wanted to talk about that this morning, and it’s an important thing to talk about.

“But I am just thinking everybody watching at home will be asking, ‘Why does he want to talk about that, when we have got this chaos at home?!’

“And it’s my job to put their thoughts to you.”

Piers couldn’t believe what he was watching and took to social media to share his thoughts.

He tweeted: “Dominic Raab is extraordinarily arrogant for someone with so little to be arrogant about.”

Piers and Susanna return to the studio on Monday.
