Stephen McGregor's Hollyoaks return – What it could mean and actor who plays him

Luke Morgan receives an unexpected visit in Hollyoaks this week, after his attacker Stephen Morgan returns to the village – and his comeback could mean danger for Luke once more.

Stephen Morgan was one of the three characters who began to terrorise Luke Morgan over 20 years ago, after Luke accidentally broke his friend Mark Gibb’s leg during a football match in 2000.

The trio, which included Stephen, Mark and their accomplice Kenneth, began to target Luke over many months, before Luke Morgan was raped by Mark Gibbs.

The three characters were later convicted of their crime, with Mark Gibbs being sentenced to eight years in prison, and Stephen and Kenneth both being sentenced to three years and six months imprisonment.

However, Stephen’s return to the village is now set to shock Luke Morgan, when the two characters cross paths in the local park.

Before Stephen’s return to Hollyoaks however, Luke and sister Zara recently discovered that their mother Sue had been writing to Stephen in prison, and visiting him through the years.

The letters had been discovered by Luke’s partner Cindy Cunningham following Sue’s death, with Cindy confiding in Zara, saying: “I don’t want to mention it in front of Luke.”

However, Luke later found out and in a bombshell revelation, it is revealed this week that Cindy Cunningham has also been writing to Stephen, following the discovery of the letters.

Though it is not known what Cindy has written to Stephen in the letters, things look set to take a drastic turn for her and Luke, after Luke goes missing following his encounter with Stephen in the park.

Has Stephen come back to make amends with Luke, and is Luke’s disappearance a coincidence? Or is Stephen responsible for his disappearance? Viewers will have to wait and see.

Another Hollyoaks mystery is also the identity of the actor behind Stephen McGregor.

Despite having played a major role in Hollyoaks back in 2000, the actor who played Stephen McGregor was not credited in the series listings.

However, the actors who played Mark Gibbs and Kenneth Boyd were listed, being played by Colin Parry and Greg Milburn respectively.

Similarly, the name of the actor playing the role of Stephen McGregor in this week’s episodes has also not been released.

Is this an extra layer of mystery to Stephen’s already unexpected return? And is the same actor returning to the role? Only time will tell.
