Strictly's Claudia Winkleman looks like different person without fringe or eyeliner

Claudia Winkleman is known for her signature look of a heavy fringe, dark eyeliner and a tan – and she’s barely recognisable without it.

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter, 50, has been rocking her striking image for years and once said she thought of it as her “armour”.

But unearthed snaps from several years ago has revealed that she used to have a different look.

One image, which was taken in Italy, showed the TV star perched in front of a marina in a pink and white summer dress.

She didn’t have a fringe and her hair was much lighter than usual, tumbling over her shoulders in coppery waves.

Claudia didn’t seem to be wearing much make-up – if any – and there was none of her usual dark eyeliner in sight.

Beaming at the camera, she looked fresh-faced and happy as she struck a pose.

Another shot showed the TV star giggling as she was snapped in a casual blue shirt and hoodie.

She only had a hint of a tan and her lightish brown hair was flopped over to one side.

However, Claudia’s old look seems to be consigned to history as she’s said many times that she loves her trademark look.

She has even joked that she reckons she picks up jobs because of it.

“I think it’s the only reason I get work,” she has been quoted as saying.

“I’m sure TV producers go, ‘Who’s the one with the fringe? We’ll have her.’ I can’t imagine life without it.”

“Even if it all falls out, I’ll just get a fringe wig,” added the mum of three.
