Strictly's Will Mellor shared secret 'racy dance' with Craig Revel-Horwood before show

He might be known for playing Jambo Bolton in Hollyoaks, and Corrie fans will see him as Harvey Gaskell.

But it seems soap star Will Mellor was a private dancer for Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel-Horwood, or at least if his saucy jokes are anything to go by.

It would give Will, 46, the upper-hand over his fellow Strictly contestants this year, because he teased he spent years shaking his hips for scary judge Craig as a way to earn some cash.

When told Craig had picked him as ‘one to watch’, he asked: “Who said that, Craig?”

Will’s Corrie co-star Kym then teased him: “Oh yeah, when has Craig seen you dancing?”

Will then sent a flirtacious message to the judge as he quipped: “I was Craig’s private dancer for many years. I was Craig’s dancer for money, many years ago.”

But he humbly added: “I don’t know where he gets that from, I was looking around yesterday and I couldn’t stop smiling. Everyone individually were just smiling and enjoying it.”

On how he’ll handle feedback from the judges, Will said: “I’m not a dancer. None of us are going into this thinking we’re all great dancers. We’ve just got to try and be the best we can be and enjoy the experience.

“I think that’s the most important thing, that we enjoy it. I don’t take myself seriously, but I’m gonna take take the dancing seriously.”

“So if they critique me, I’ll go ‘I don’t know, you’re probably right! I don’t know, I’m having a go. I’m doing the best I can and that’s it. We’re gonna get on this Strictly train and see how far it takes us, and we all have to get off at each stop and that’s it. We’ve just got to do what we can do.”

“One of the reasons why I’m doing it is to create memories and live life and do things out of your comfort zone.

“When you lose people you start to realise life’s short, and you’ve got to say yes to more things, and I would never have said yes to this a while back. My mindset was a bit frightened of doing things in case it ruined other opportunities, and now I’m like ‘Yes, do things.'”

Strictly Come Dancing returns Friday September 23 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
