TalkTV and talkRADIO presenter James Whale has said he is dying of terminal cancer which has spread around his body, and he “won’t be here this time next year”.

The 71-year-old spoke on Monday night at the British Curry Awards when he told the audience his heartbreaking update.

He explained that he had just months to live after the cancer had spread to his brain, spine, kidney and lungs.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star said: “I know a lot of you won’t like me, but this time next year I won’t be here. I have terminal cancer.

“As you might be able to hear, I am having chemotherapy which makes it harder for me to breathe, but I’m OK. Don’t worry.

“I am in my 70s now and I just want to say don’t waste your time on stupid things that don’t matter,” he added, according to MailOnline.

James has been very open about his cancer diagnosis, having to take off time from presenting on the radio two years ago due to his health.

He later admitted that when he was first diagnosed with cancer he had considered ending his life at Dignitas.

James said he’d been of the mindset that he “might as well go and get it over with”, but later changed his mind as he wanted to live past the age of 70.

He told The Sun : “I came home, had a little think about things. I decided I’m just booking myself a trip to Dignitas. You might as well just go and get it over with.

“I’d looked into it quite some time ago because Melinda died two years ago and it’s been something in the back of my mind.”

He went on: “This little b*****d has spread. It’s in my remaining kidney. I’ve got a couple of small lesions in my lungs. I’ve got it in my spine. I’ve got it in my brain.”

This isn’t the first time James has found his life affected by cancer, after his wife Melinda died in 2018 after battling lung cancer.

He has since found love again with his new wife Nadine Talbot-Brown, who attended the British Curry Awards with him on Monday night (November 28).
