Before Toyah rose to fame with hits including Thunder In The Mountains, the star entered the limelight as an actress alongside TV legend Noel Edmonds in the BBC play Glitter.

Ironically she played a musician in the play, seemingly pre-empting what was to come from the punk icon.

She also starred alongside Phil Daniels in Glitter, who she would also perform opposite in the legendary film Quadrophenia in 1979, where she played Monkey.

Toyah is not the only famous musician in her relationship, as her husband is none other than King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp.

As well as being one of the most influential musicians of all time, Robert has also worked with artists including Daryl Hall and David Sylvian, as well as working with his wife Toyah on albums including 1994’s Dreamchild.

The couple have been married since 1986 and have no children, after meeting at a charity lunch in 1983, with Robert Fripp telling The Independent: “My life really began when I met this little creature and she became my wife.

“We didn’t know each other, but it was perfectly clear to me within a week of knowing Toyah that she was the woman I wanted to be my wife – just as I knew within a fairly short time of having a guitar in my hands at the age of 11 that this was going to be my life.”

Toyah also revealed one of the secrets behind their marriage too while appearing on ITV daytime show Loose Women: “We live in the same house now, but we used to have two separate houses. He still has his 200 yards away, but he doesn’t go there so much anymore.

She added: “However – this is the real secret – we have a snore room!

“He snores, so after decades of sleepless nights, I said ‘please, please can we have somewhere for you to go when you sound like a foghorn!”

During the lockdown in 2020, fans went wild for Toyah Willcox’s outrageous online music videos – which saw the singer belt out songs alongside musician husband Robert Fripp – racking up millions of views in the process.

Not only did Toyah show off her impressive vocals in the now-famous Sunday Lunch series, but she also left little to the imagination with some of her outfits too.

One saucy video showed Toyah seductively singing Toxic by Britney Spears, while wearing a see-through mesh top, with only tape to cover her cleavage.

Another featured the singer giving it her all as she sang Metallica’s Enter Sandman on an exercise bike – all while wearing another see-through top – while in another, she could be seen performing wearing a cheerleader’s outfit.

The singer has since revealed that she began the popular video series after her husband Robert had ‘withdrawals’ from performing live, saying to NME: “Here I am in this house with this 74-year-old husband who I really don’t want to live without.

“He was withdrawing, so I thought: ‘I’m going to teach him to dance.’ And it became a challenge.”

Toyah Willcox recently featured on the Discovery series Celebrity Help My House is Haunted, after revealing she had been terrorised by a violent ghost.

She even added that pal and Coronation Street star Rula Lenska had come face to face with the spirits, saying in the programme: “Rula was down in the cellar and she could hear children screaming and she passed out. When she came around, she said she was surrounded by children.”

A paranormal team were called to investigate her Worcestershire home as part of the programme, where it emerged the property is haunted by a ghost called George, who is thought to be a soldier who fought during the English civil war in the 1600s.

In the footage, investigator Barry Ghai can even be seen saying that he felt he was being choked, commenting: “F** scared the s*** out of me.

“Something just grabbed my windpipe. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t get a breath in. That’s what scared me. I thought I was gonna die.”

However, Toyah revealed that the team ‘released the energy’ from the home, with the star adding: “I wouldn’t want something stuck here — I like to think that anything around is with us out of choice.”
