This Morning blunder as they show wrong picture in touching Paul O'Grady tribute

This Morning faced an awkward blunder on Wednesday (March 29) after bosses used the wrong photo while speaking to Sally Lindsay.

Presenters Holly Willoughby and stand-in Joel Dommett were at the helm of the hit ITV daytime show.

But during an interview with Coronation Street legend Sally, the pair were left red-faced when Sally told them the picture on screen was not actually her.

On the show, Sally was discussing her friendship with Paul O’Grady – who tragically died on Tuesday (March 28).

However, while recalling her memories, This Morning bosses showed a photo of fellow soap star Jo Joyner on The Paul O’Grady Show.

But the blunder didn’t go amiss from Sally who called out the mistake, saying: “Oh that’s Jo Joyner, that’s not me.”

Holly nervously quipped back: “Oh yeah sorry about that.”

“Everyone always gets us confused,” Sally quipped back.

But Sally saw the humour in the blunder, adding “that’s hilarious.”

Speaking about her relationship with Paul, Sally said with tears in her eyes: “We were friends for a long, time it’s a shock this morning.”

“You met Paul Back in your Corrie days?” Joel asked.

“Yeah, he started his daytime show, which was wonderful, and I was always on it.”

Sally then went on to recall the last time she spoke to him.

“Last time I spoke to him was last Thursday and he had to go because one of his pigs was ill,” she explained.

It was announced that Paul had passed away on March 28 in a statement released by his husband Andre Portasio, who he married in 2017.

“It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening. We ask, at this difficult time, that whilst you celebrate his life you also respect our privacy as we come to terms with this loss,” the statement read.

“He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion. I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.”
