Ant and Dec have spoken out about the chaotic I’m A Celebrity South Africa live final, teasing fans with some behind-the-scenes information on what really happened as the show descended into chaos
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have addressed the dramatic I’m a Celeb South Africa live final that sparked mayhem between the hosts and celebrity campmates last Friday evening (April 24).
In the teaser for their podcast Hanging Out with Ant and Dec, the pair made light of the chaos from the broadcast. Ant quipped, “If you didn’t see it, I bet you read about it!
“It was quite the night!” declared Dec, vowing to reveal the “ins and outs” of the occasion. Ant responded: “It was a weird night of TV,” noting that there were “walk-outs” amongst the drama.
Outlining the key subjects of their forthcoming podcast instalment, the duo promised to discuss the drama surrounding Jimmy Bullard. Dec stated: “The first question was to Jimmy about why did you call I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.”
Ant responded: “On the night I said I disagreed with him.” This presumably refers to Jimmy Bullard, whom Ant publicly challenged when Jimmy pressed him to confirm that Adam was being “abusive and aggressive” on the programme, according the Mirror.
Dec then suggested that someone had a “bee in his bonnet” that he was eager to air, though the preview made it ambiguous precisely whom he meant. Dec also disclosed that two of the All Stars had departed the group WhatsApp, Gemma Collins and Adam Thomas.
Meanwhile Ant teased he’d share an anecdote about bumping into Adam Thomas and Jimmy Bullard following the recording of the episode. While this trailer merely hinted at what’s to come, the complete episode will drop on Thursday (April 30) − so viewers won’t need to hang around long to catch all the latest tittle-tattle from the presenters who witnessed the drama unfold firsthand.
Viewers were thrilled with the morsels of information shared by the hosts, with some declaring it was destined to be their “best podcast ever” and they were eagerly anticipating this “juicy watch”. The final episode saw Adam Thomas crowned King of the Jungle, but witnessed clashes with David Haye and Jimmy throughout the concluding show, prompting both Sinitta and Gemma to storm out of the live recording.
Following the programme’s conclusion, the actor has revealed he feels ‘dead inside and numb’ about the whole ordeal and insisted he wouldn’t return to the show even if offered ‘£10million’, claiming it has ‘eaten away at his soul.’ Adam said he felt the colour ‘drain from his face’ when Ant and Dec declared him the winner, as his worst nightmare became reality.
Speaking on The Thomas Bro’s podcast with brothers Scott and Ryan Thomas, Adam said: “The most disturbing is that I look at David and even after the show and after everything he did, you know he sent me a voice note. And he was like ‘oh mate, what a great show that was. I’m so happy you won. Congratulations.'”
And he revealed the blunt response he fired back to his former campmate. “I just sent him a message back just saying, you know, ‘I think this is where we draw the line and I hope that you find happiness, bro, but I’m done.'”
