The Celebrity Traitors is coming back in just a matter of weeks – and we’ve had our first look at the new batch of contestants.
A sneak peek at the upcoming series reveals host Claudia Winkleman assembling a genuinely stellar cast as they face the ultimate challenge of detection, trust and betrayal. Claudia can be seen positioned at the front of a church before the new cast, declaring: “. A moment of silence, for the celebrities gathered today.”
The camera then sweeps around to reveal the complete cast seated in the pews facing the presenter. She subsequently added: “Thoughts and prayers” before striding through the church doors, while the theme tune played dramatically.
The celebrity cast have all assembled in the Scottish Highlands, where they’ll be compelled to determine who amongst them can be trusted – and who is covertly scheming against the group. And there’s certainly no lack of famous faces entering the castle for the second series.
Those participating are Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Maya Jama.
They’re accompanied by Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha’la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
The roster means audiences can anticipate a peculiar blend of comedians, actors, broadcasters, musicians and TV personalities – all bundled together for one highly unpredictable contest.
Claudia will again supervise matters as the famous faces try to work out who is playing genuinely and who has covertly been enlisted as a Traitor.
The series guarantees the same combination of sleuthing, treachery and faith that rendered the celebrity edition such a triumph when it initially launched.
The Celebrity Traitors series two is arriving soon on BBC One and iPlayer, though a precise broadcast date remains unconfirmed.
The second series will comprise 10 episodes, each running 60 minutes, and is crafted by Studio Lambert Scotland for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
With such a wildly diverse collection of celebrities being hurled together, the paramount question may be whether friendship, stardom or pure mistrust prevails once the game commences.
And with Claudia Winkleman at the helm, audiences can anticipate numerous tense confrontations, dramatic exposures and spectacular double-crosses throughout.
