Christine McGuinness dubs herself ‘five-star lesbian’ as she hunts for wife after split

Christine McGuinness has opened up about dating women following her split with ex-husband Paddy McGuinness, declaring she is a ‘five-star lesbian’ and is ‘looking for a wife’

Christine McGuinness says she’s tighter than ever with her ex Paddy, and revealed he’s even vetted the women she’s been seeing.

The model and mum-of-three, 38, split from the former Top Gear presenter, 52, after 11 years of marriage, but continues to share the comedian’s lavish Cheshire home for the benefit of their three children, who all have autism.

Former Miss Liverpool Christine has opened up about her sexuality since parting ways with Paddy, disclosing that she has been romantically involved with both men and women, including footballer and songwriter Chelcee Grimes. Now, however, the model has disclosed she is “searching for a wife” as she boasted about being a “five-star lesbian”.

Speaking to Amy Spalding and Gareth Valentino on their LGBTQ podcast, It Started With A Kiss, she said: “I would love to have a wife one day, not like a legalised marriage, but like a blessing, a celebration of love and all of that, I would love to just be saying, this is my wife.”

Explaining that she still wants to keep her romantic life and family life separate for the time being, she continued: “I don’t want to bring somebody into my personal life too quickly. I like the separate life. My family, my kids, my home is up there and then I come to London, step off that train, I can work, have fun, I can sleep in and I don’t need to worry about everything.”

However, while acknowledging that she “lives a double life”, Christine confessed it has created difficulties previously with her past relationships with women.

“This has become a problem because eventually it gets to the point where, obviously, I’m quite happy at this, and then my woman’s going… [When] am I going to meet the kids? And “are we doing this forever?” And I’m kind of going like, “OK, I thought I did tell you that that wasn’t going to change any time soon at the beginning.”

Maintaining she has always been “upfront” about her circumstances, Christine said: “I feel like it’s always me that sticks to the plan. This has been a thing with all of the women that I’ve dated. I’ll always let them know my situation.”

The star revealed her ex Paddy is supportive of her new life, reports the Mirror.

During the podcast Christine is asked: “Are you showing him pictures like, ‘Oh look at her, she’s fit. What do you think of her?’

And Christine tells the hosts “There’s times where we have, yeah.”

The mum speaks remarkably openly during the interview, especially when recounting one evening with a “very beautiful woman” Disclosing that she was the “giver for the evening and morning” – while also informing her partner she will only use sex toys fresh out of the plastic, she recalled: “I’m so serious. I went: ‘Stop, no because you might be a gold-star lesbian, but I’m a five-star lesbian’.”

A gold-star lesbian is a slang term for a lesbian who has never had sexual or romantic experiences with men. Christine went on: “‘So I got to this hotel and I’m thinking this is just sex, it’s fine. And she was a very, very beautiful, like that perfect, pretty, handsome, like masc[uline] stud type woman, really gorgeous, dark skin, like she had the whole, everything…I was the giver for the evening and the morning, and I kept myself to myself.”

The Games star continued: “But it’s what always happens and I’m always quite surprised, especially when it’s a masculine woman. I always expect it to be the other way around, but it just never is. It’ll always be me doing the most and they’re a pillow princess.”

Christine has previously revealed that she and Paddy are seldom in their shared home simultaneously, though acknowledged it would “take a while” before they part ways permanently, explaining: “We know it’s going to take a while because we’ve got children, going back home, we both kind of get that reality check of we can’t just go and move in with somebody just yet.”

She also confessed they’ve exchanged photographs of the women they’re currently seeing, emphasising their separation remains friendly.
