Coronation Street fans reckon they’ve ‘worked out’ who will have become a murderer before the week ends.
Viewers watching the ITV soap are desperate to find out who has been killed after it was revealed earlier this year that a murder will shake the cobbles following Lisa Swain and Carla Connor’s wedding day. Now, some fans are certain they know who is responsible − and it might shock many, despite the character’s troubled history.
Betsy Swain will stumble upon the dead body, as revealed in a flash-forward episode that aired back in February. In the episode, the audience witnessed the stunned teenager being grilled by officers about what she found.
In the midst of her interrogation, Betsy confirmed she’d been at her mother’s wedding before heading into town for the reception. When the episode returned to current time, Corrie watchers began to witness how the conduct of five characters might result in their potential demise.
Theo Silverton, Megan Walsh, Maggie Driscoll, Jodie Ramsey and Carl Webster have all been identified as possible casualties, each acting in a way that could result in their death, according to the Manchester Evening News. Months later, Lisa and Carla’s special day finally took place last Thursday (April 23), and as the party drew to a close, the newly-weds found themselves alone in Underworld when a shriek rang out throughout the street.
While it caught Lisa’s attention, her newlywed wife Carla brushed it off, claiming it was ‘just foxes’. But as Corrie enthusiasts are aware, it was actually Betsy’s scream as she made her horrifying discovery.
Nevertheless, the victim’s identity wasn’t revealed, and this week, audiences have been revisiting the same day, though each episode is witnessed from the viewpoint of a different potential victim. As a result, at the week’s conclusion, Betsy will discover one of them dead, and the search to identify the murderer will then get underway.
While the victim remains unidentified, Corrie fans have already been speculating about who they believe the killer might be. Signs could indicate that groomer Megan Walsh will be the one killed off as she’s abducted and confronted by sisters Eva Price, Leanne Battersby and Toyah Battersby.
One user said: “I’m starting to get suspicious of Toyah, but it’d also be so slay if she was the killer.” A second replied: “She’s killed before also I’m so suspicious of her.”
