Una Healy, ex of former heavyweight champion David Haye, has shown her support for I’m A Celebrity All Stars winner Adam Thomas after his explosive on-screen clash with the boxer
I’m A Celebrity star Adam Thomas has secured backing from David Haye’s former flame following an explosive All Stars series. The former boxer, 45, and Waterloo Road actor, 37, clashed in South Africa, with David slamming Adam for avoiding some of the programme’s trials.
During last week’s bombshell reunion, Adam reportedly declined a handshake from the ex-heavyweight champion, who branded the father-of-two as lacking the “mental strength” to compete on the programme, despite later offering an apology.
Nevertheless, Adam has now received public backing from David’s former partner, Una Healy, whom he romanced three years ago. Posting on Instagram with a photograph of his son Teddy, who beams while displaying four trophies from his dance competitions, Adam penned: “One thing I’ve learnt though is as you get older you start to realise, it’s not about trophies or crowns, none of that really matters.
“I already won a long time ago. Everything I need is right here.” By liking the post, The Saturdays singer Una demonstrated her support after David allegedly wound up Adam so severely during last week’s I’m A Celeb reunion that he hurled his flower crown to the floor in fury.
In what proved to be one of ITV’s most chaotic transmissions in recent memory, former boxer David and ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard once more confronted Adam.
The thespian also feuded with the duo in the jungle, with Adam recently disclosing that David’s remarks “broke” him.
David was criticised for labelling Adam “useless” after he opted out of a trial due to a medical condition. Meanwhile, tensions flared between Adam and Jimmy when Jimmy pulled out of a trial, leaving Adam in danger of an early exit, reports the Mirror.
Despite the show being recorded months prior, the animosity between the three hadn’t subsided. On Friday, as Adam was declared the winner, Haye reportedly taunted him by saying: “You’re not a worthy winner,” leading to Adam retorting: “This is bullying.”
Una, on the other hand, had shed some light on her now notorious relationship with David.
Speaking to The Sun, the mother-of-two confirmed that she was only involved with David, stating that the rumours about her made her realise what she won’t put up with.
Acknowledging that she hasn’t had the “best track record” in love, she said: “I’ve moved on so long ago from all that.”
Asserting that she now has “non-negotiables”, she went on: “You live and learn in life. I think that I’ve learned now what I don’t want, and I’m going to have my non-negotiables, what I will not tolerate or put up with.
“I don’t want to do the whole situationship thing. I’ve done that, I tried that. It’s not very fulfilling. I’ve actually written a song about it.”
