A Rod Stewart lookalike singer has gone viral after giving the performance of a lifetime for free in a quiet dive bar during the day.

The crooner has been branded “Temu Rod Stewart” and “Fraud Stewart” after footage of him wailing his heart out was shared online. A bartender and content creator called Tiffany, based in Boston, US, shared the clip on social media.

It quickly took off, with viewers obsessed by the punter’s passion and commitment to his performance. In the caption, Tiffany wrote: “Dive bar day shifts bartending isn’t just a job… it’s a front-row seat to the funniest, wildest, most unforgettable moments.”

She also tagged @worldsgreatestdivebar_. The video is filmed from behind the bar, with the venue looking like a typical afternoon, until the opening notes of Rod Stewart’s 1971 hit, “Maggie May”, kick in over the sound system.

The regular then shuffles into the shot, immediately treating the empty floor like a stadium stage. With his uncanny resemblance to the British rock legend, Tiffany added the text: “POV: All you have to do is put on Rod Stewart and the Temu Rod Stewart put on a free concert.”

With a hairstyle and look that screams Rod, the man in the video launches into an impromptu, high-energy lip-sync and dance routine, mimicking Stewart’s signature stage swagger. Commenters on Tiffany’s Instagram Reel say the performer is a long-time fixture of the South Boston (“Southie”) bar scene, with some claiming he’s been legendary since the early 1990s.

According to those in the know, he’s even earned an additional nickname: “Southie Fraud Stewart”. One Instagram user suggested he’s brought the same “Something Special” energy to local spots for decades, with Murphy’s Law name-checked as one of the places he’s apparently been doing his thing.

Viewers can’t get enough, with one writing: “Sometimes my algorithm really knows what I need.” Another joked: “Retirement goals…a cold dive bar, a hot day outside, and drinking on a Tuesday afternoon.” Someone else declared: “Wherever this is, I’m buying a one-way ticket.”

Others were simply delighted by the commitment, with one admirer saying: “I’m dying. lol. He’s so awesome. If you got it show it baby. He even looks like him.”

While one summed up the whole vibe in five words: “This looks like heaven to me.”

The actual Sir Rod Stewart is currently in the middle of his extended “One Last Time” global tour, splitting his time between major stadium dates, new musical projects, and family holidays. At 81-years-old, the rock icon continues to perform heavily despite some recent, brief health setbacks.
