Lee Andrews hit out at Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid last week after being released from Dubai’s Al Awir prison, and now Katie has stood by her husband’s side
Katie Price has backed her husband Lee Andrews, who has called for Susanna Reid to get the chop from ITV’s Good Morning Britain.
Susanna and her GMB co-host Ed Balls were meant to interview Katie and her husband on the ITV show last month, but he missed the interview as he failed to board a flight to the UK. Lee then went missing for days before Katie confirmed he was in a Dubai prison.
Lee has now got out of prison and has claimed he was held at gunpoint and beaten up before being sent behind bars. He alleged in a video last week that he had been wrongly accused of spying – although it’s since been reported he was imprisoned over unpaid debts.
Susanna clearly wasn’t buying Lee’s latest claims when she rolled her eyes at him on GMB. Lee fired back in a rant against the presenter and fumed that she should “lose her job”.
Katie has now reposted the video on Facebook, alongside the caption: “My Husband Has Nothing To Hide.” When Lee’s claims were brought up on GMB, she said: “I think my eyes just rolled out of my head.”
In his video, Lee said: “What is Susanna Reid rolling her eyes at? I’m not gonna comment on that, because obviously I’ll get onto the sofa with Katie at some point and we’ll thrash it out.
“And she can be as forthcoming as she likes,” adding: “But to actually judge me without any evidence, calling me a conman, she should lose her job for that.”
Lee had said in his original video: “Hi everyone, this is Lee. I’ve been missing now for several weeks. I can tell you I’m now safe and healthy and with my wife. I was taken close to the Hatta-Oman border by men at gunpoint and then I was captured by men with assault rifles.
“They did slap me around a little bit, little s***s, and I was hand-tied, shackled and also had a hood over my head. From there I was taken to a black site and I had no use of my phone and from what I know it was an extended arm of the National Guard and that’s all I can reveal at the moment.
“I have signed disclaimers now with state security and from there I was put into the system. At no point have I faced anything to do with fraud allegations or any criminal activities such as that.”
Katie has stayed loyal to Lee but admitted she still has questions for her husband about his arrest and claims that his exes have made. She told The Sun: “I need answers, and if I don’t like the answers, I’ll be gone.”
