Katie Price and Peter Andre are both set to appear in the third series of their daughter Princess Andre’s reality show, although they won’t cross paths despite putting their differences behind them
Katie Price has spoken out after finally being allowed to appear in her daughter Princess Andre’s documentary following an alleged ban. Last year, the 48-year-old claimed she was not allowed to attend her daughter’s 18th birthday party because it was being filmed for her ITV series The Princess Diaries.
Speaking to her sister Sophie on The Katie Price Show podcast, she said at the time: “Certain people don’t think it’s good for Princess to be seen with me, certain people that used to look after me.”
After Sophie suggested Katie was “too risky” to feature in the programme, she hit back: “It’s pathetic, I’m her mother.”
“The fact is, there’s stuff my daughter is doing and I’m not allowed to be seen at any of it because it’s for filming,” Katie added.
Now, according to Sophie, Katie will appear in “every episode” of the third series, set to return to screens this week. Addressing the U-turn on her podcast last week, the mother-of-five said: “Yes, this time, I was allowed to be in it.
“I don’t know what they’ve kept in, I don’t know, but I have been filming and I’m glad they filmed it, because they know they need me in the show.”
The former glamour model went on to describe herself as “TV gold” and claimed producers wanted her in the series because of her humour.
Katie shares Princess, 19, and son Junior, 21, with her ex-husband Peter Andre, who also features heavily in the documentary series.
The former couple, who split in 2009 after four years of marriage, are believed to have filmed their scenes separately.
They have not appeared together on television since starring in their reality show, Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter.
Speaking about both of his parents featuring in his sister’s documentary, Katie’s son Junior Andre said that while things were “amicable” between Peter and Katie, they are “not best friends”.
“The main thing is, it’s amicable. They’ve got a truce, but they’re not best friends and they don’t need to be,” Junior told The Sun.
“The fact that they’re both in it is great because it’s our parents. “We love them, and want everyone to be involved. But yeah, they don’t need to cross paths.”
In February, Katie and Peter issued a rare joint statement announcing they had agreed to leave their differences behind for the sake of their children.
It read: “Katie Price and Peter Andre have decided to close the door on the past and move forward into a new chapter with positivity and respect.
“We are both focused on creating a calm and supporting environment for our children. We have reached a mutual agreement, both legally and personally confirming that neither of us will speak negatively about the other going forward.”
