Katie Price’s family were left stunned when she married Lee Andrews in Dubai just days after meeting him, with her son Junior branding the union ‘stupid’ in a new documentary about the glamour model’s life
Katie Price’s family have confessed they are deeply worried about her marriage to Lee Andrews, with son Junior calling it “stupid”.
The pair shocked fans when they wed in Dubai at the start of the year, mere days after their first encounter. Yet in a fresh documentary exploring the glamour model’s headline-grabbing life, her relatives revealed they were equally stunned by the lightning-fast pace of the relationship.
In the clips, the 48-year-old discussed her split from former husband Peter Andre, before revealing her romantic requirements. Outlining her perfect partner’s qualities, she revealed in Katie Price : Nothing To Hide: “Someone who can treat me, someone who doesn’t have to be in and out my pockets all the time, someone supportive, someone who understands my job, someone who wants to be private, someone who doesn’t want to be famous, just know me for me, not about everything else.”
Moments afterwards, text appeared stating “two weeks later”, before she was shown exchanging vows with the businessman, reports the Mirror.
Junior – whom she shares with Peter – delivered a damning assessment of the wedding, telling cameras: “This is the most silliest, stupidest thing, marrying a guy she doesn’t even know. This is my mum, this is what she does.”
Katie’s cherished mum Amy revealed she pleaded with the Celebrity Big Brother champion for explanations, while her stepfather, Paul Price, spoke bluntly, admitting he was furious about the decision. “I said what’s she going to Dubai for?’To see a bloke’,” he said of the family conversations around the nuptials.
“I said what’s the catch? And then we find out she’s getting married. I said ‘you’re off your head’.
“And then the geezer is in the paper pretending to be a millionaire.”
When asked whether he was angry with his stepdaughter, he added: “100 percent.”
Katie and Lee have rarely been absent from the headlines following their wedding in January, with fierce speculation over why the self-proclaimed millionaire had not travelled to the UK to visit his new family.
The spotlight intensified when he was expected to appear alongside the I’m A Celeb star on Good Morning Britain in May, but failed to show up.
In a shocking turn of events, the mum-of-five sounded the alarm, alleging that he was missing and had been “kidnapped”, before it transpired that he was locked up in Al-Awir prison, over a civil case.
Katie and her sister, Sophie, dissected his notorious GMB no-show during a frank discussion on their podcast, where the star’s sibling made her views on her brother-in-law crystal clear.
“We’re not going to argue about this, we’re not, it’s not worth it,” she raged at the time. “However, I just feel like he’s massively mugging you off and he’s done it publicly on live TV.”
Katie acknowledged that their romance had become a “soap opera”, adding: “This is why I want relationships a bit more private. But at the end of the day it’s between me and him, it’s not really anyone else.
“He hasn’t made it to the UK and I’ve said to him, he needs to make it to the UK because if he doesn’t then there’s obviously something not right going on.
“And if he does make it to England it will shut all the rumours up because at the moment everyone thinks he’s on a flight ban, this and that. I said it does look weird that you haven’t come to England and I’ve been going to Dubai, he has to come here now.”
