A new update for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time could suggest that a new gameplay trailer is on the horizon and that the release date is sooner than fans expect
Nintendo’s revamp of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time could be coming very soon. The remake is one of the year’s most eagerly awaited games alongside GTA 6, yet we’ve not been treated to a proper gameplay trailer yet.
However, there are growing signs that a trailer could be coming as the game has just received an official age rating from the ESRB, which could suggest that development is almost complete. The game has been given a E10 rating.
The official store page for the Ocarina of Time remake has been updated to reflect this rating. Its content warnings include ‘Animated Blood’ and ‘Fantasy Violence’, although no other new information has been added. The release date is still anticipated for 2026 and whether it will clash with GTA 6’s release date of 19 November remains to be seen, reports the Express.
We have no update as to when the Ocarina of Time remake will receive another gameplay trailer, but with only five months of 2026 left it will hopefully be very soon.
Nintendo typically hosts a Direct presentation around September each year, so we might see a major trailer and gameplay demo unveiled then.
However, the Japanese company has become increasingly unpredictable with its promotional material, as evidenced by the Starfox announcement Direct.
It dropped with barely a few minutes’ notice and completely out of the blue back in May followed by a late June release date.
Nintendo is likely aware that it doesn’t need to pull out all the stops to market the Ocarina of Time remake.
Given its status as one of the greatest games ever made, gamers are bound to rush to purchase it regardless.
