Olivia Attwood opens up on ‘big dirty secret’ behind breakup with Bradley Dack

Olivia Attwood has revealed the truth behind her split from Bradley Dack, admitting their high-pressure careers left them disconnected and branded it a ‘big dirty secret’

Olivia Attwood has opened up like never before about the breakdown of her marriage to footballer Bradley Dack, revealing what she called the “big dirty secret” behind their split.

The Love Island star, 34, confessed she was “happy to share a lot” about their relationship struggles, admitting the couple became “disconnected” thanks to the pressures of their high-octane careers.

It emerged last month that Olivia and Bradley had called time on their marriage after a “breach of trust” on his part, leaving the ITV favourite devastated. Speaking candidly on Jamie Laing’s Great Company podcast, Olivia explained the reality behind keeping up appearances in the public eye. “I kinda think there’s a newer generation of people existing in our industry that previous generations haven’t,” she said.

She added: “A publicist would be like, ‘don’t share that and just pretend everything is fine’. I just kinda thought, yes I could easily go down that route but also I just know that a lot of people will relate to the kind of year that Brad and I had. You know when you have these young married people who have their careers and they’re both high pressure and you’re doing your thing, it’s so easy to become disconnected.”

The broadcaster admitted she’s been “hanging in there” while navigating the heartbreak, confessing she “hated” Valentine’s Day and has since moved into her own apartment.

“There are ups and downs, there are things on his side which haven’t been great, there’s a mix of things,” Olivia said. “I have fed up and done stuff, Brad has f***** up.”

Reflecting on the reaction to her openness, Olivia added: “Actually when I talked about it, the amount of people that came and messaged like ‘Oh my God I thought it was just me and I thought it was just me and my partner’. It happens, it’s no joke and relationships are work. But I think it’s become some big dirty secret that no-one really wants to talk about. And I don’t mean in that they should be laborious or drain you but you do actively have to put into them.”

Since the split, Olivia has unfollowed Bradley on social media. A source close to the star said: “Olivia’s been so open about their marriage struggles and everything she said on This Morning this month, and on her podcast, is true. She and Brad had proper, quality time together and they laughed and enjoyed each other like before.”

Heartbreakingly, Olivia admitted the split has left her feeling like someone has “stolen my personality” as she tries to move on. The ITV panellist had been on a high after a “blissful” trip to Paris in early January, but the betrayal came as a “bolt from the blue.” “She thought things were genuinely back on track and that Paris was a perfect break, it was blissful,” the source added.
