Dragons’ Den and Strictly Come Dancing star Sara Davies’ ITV game show, Time is Money, is reportedly set to be axed after just one series, according to reports
One of ITV’s biggest stars could be about to wave goodbye to a major primetime show after just one series.
The ITV quiz show, Time is Money, is reportedly on the chopping block. TV Zone has revealed that the series won’t be returning for a second season, following its debut on 1 January, 2026. Hosted by Dragons’ Den and Strictly Come Dancing star, Sara Davies, the high-stakes programme saw contestants begin each game with their potential winnings. Faced with challenging questions, any hesitation or incorrect answer would see their money dwindling.
“What I love most about Time Is Money is the energy,” Sara expressed on her official website. “It’s quick, it’s intense, and it’s full of those make-or-break moments where staying calm under pressure really matters – something I know a lot about!”.

Sara added: “This show is exhilarating, unpredictable, and packed with drama and I know audiences at home will be shouting at the telly, willing contestants to beat the clock.”, reports the Express.
While Time is Money is not anticipated to return, fans of the show can still stream all episodes of the first season on ITVX.
Home to some of the nation’s favourite game shows, ITV continues to bask in the success of The Chase, Tipping Point and Lingo attracting viewers. However, the broadcasting behemoth has also had to make some difficult cuts this year.
Among the casualties, it’s been reported that The Summit, a high-budget competition series fronted by This Morning’s Ben Shephard, has been given the chop. Launched in February during a prime-time weekday slot, ITV reportedly decided to pull the plug after viewing figures fell short of expectations.
Spanning eight episodes, the inaugural season saw 14 strangers attempt to scale one of New Zealand’s tallest peaks in a bid to bag the £200,000 prize.
