Tess Daly makes first visit to see daughter since Vernon Kay split

Former Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly has shared a series of snaps from her New York trip with her eldest daughter Phoebe, weeks after her split from Vernon Kay was announced

Tess Daly offered fans a glimpse into her New York getaway after sharing a collection of photographs with and without her daughter. And while followers appreciated the window into her city escape, it appears another eye-catching element from her images was her radiant single woman glow that shone through the posts.

In one photograph, Tess, 57, was captured in a patterned pink trouser outfit standing beside her lookalike daughter as they discovered the Big Apple after dark. In another image, Tess appears sophisticated in an all-white ensemble, sporting white shorts with a coordinating top and completing her outfit with a matching handbag.

This time around, Tess was savouring the city during daylight hours. The pair then explored Brooklyn Bridge and were also photographed at NBC Studios, with Tess and her eldest daughter Phoebe, 21, spotted taking in the attractions and sunshine.

Tess and Vernon revealed their separation last month, bringing their 22-year marriage to a close. She wrote alongside one of her uploads: “NYC with my best girls #HelloGorgeous.”, reports the Mirror.

Her second post was accompanied by the words: “Over and out NYC.” Despite their break-up, the separated pair have preserved an amicable relationship, as they were spotted at Pub in the Park, sipping cocktails and beers alongside mutual friends, including actor Will Mellor.

According to The Sun, Vernon was observed sporting his wedding ring while the duo danced to Craig David. However, Tess has also been spotted wearing her ring as well.

The former Strictly Come Dancing presenter wed Vernon in 2003 and they share two daughters, Phoebe and Amber, 16. Following their initial encounter at a BBC Christmas gathering in 2001, it was evidently love at first sight.

Tess subsequently secured her career-defining position presenting Strictly in 2014, working alongside the late Bruce Forsyth.

Following 21 years of presenting, the mother-of-two revealed she was departing from her role which she co-presented with Claudia Winkleman. The duo released their announcement through a video message.

Tess declared: “After 21 wonderfully, joyful years, on Strictly, we have decided that the time is right to step aside and pass on the baton.”

Claudia subsequently added: “Strictly is a magical, glittery, fake tanned train and it’s been a privilege to be a tiny part of it.”

The presenting duo then declared together: “We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time.”

Their announcement continued: “We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show.

“They’re the most brilliant team and we’ll miss them every day. We will cry when we say the last “keep dancing” but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza. Tess and Claud,” their statement finished.
