The Traitors star Amanda battled heartache over late brother in BBC castle

The Traitors star Amanda Collier was brutally banished from the roundtable after she failed to convince the other contestants she was a faithful – but has now opened up about her heartbreak

The Traitors star Amanda Collier has revealed her final moments on the show were emotional because of family heartache.

In tonight’s episode, she was eliminated in a game of chance against rival Reece Ward. Going head to head with him was extra tough for her because he reminded her of her late brother. In her first interview, Amanda said: “I was sadly up against Reece who reminded me of my brother who sadly passed away in 2011 at the age of 32.

“He just looked like him, so it made it more difficult because I had a really good friendship with him. He was like a little brother.”

Since losing her brother, Amanda has also lost her dad.

She said: “I’ve got a big family and we’ve been through a lot. Since my dad passed away a couple of years ago, my mum’s on her own and I live so far away.

“My sisters are amazing, caring for her and always being there.”

Amanda is devastated to be booted off the show.

She added: “I really did not want to go. I was quite sad when I left, because I wanted to stay and I felt like I hadn’t done everything that I wanted to do.

“I wanted to help more as I’ve got this massive urge to help people.”

Amanda hoped the skills she learned during her time in the police would help her on the show.

But she now reckons her experience made it more difficult for her.

She said: “I don’t think it helped me. In fact, I think it hindered me by giving me too much confidence, especially at the round table.

“That just felt like meetings I’ve been in for many years, so I didn’t find the round table intimidating.”

Amanda is now backing the three Traitors to win.

She said: “I hope the Traitors go on to take the win, because if you play the game as a Traitor, the weight on your shoulders is absolutely massive.

“So, to get through to the end, and then win is a master class and would make for a deserving winner or winners.
