Heidi Klum Is Too Ill to Continue Taping 'America's Got Talent'

    WENN/Instar

It’s said that only 3 judges, Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell and new judge Sofia Vergara, that enter the stage with Heidi missing during the filming, which features a full audience.
    Mar 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Heidi Klum was not feeling well to work on Tuesday, March 10. A new report suggests that the model left the taping for “America’s Got Talent” early because she was too ill to work.
According to TMZ, the model was all smiles when she arrived in Pasadena to film a new season of the long-running NBC talent show. She donned a red turtleneck, black pants and beige coat with a colorful detail in the front for that day. However, it appeared that she was just hiding her physical pain.
The report noted that only 3 judges, Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell and new judge Sofia Vergara, that entered the stage with Heidi missing. During the filming, which featured a full audience, the judges told the audience that she had a case of suspected food poisoning. Sofia even joked that she sent Heidi food last night.
However, TMZ revealed it wasn’t the food poisoning, noting that “she just felt like crap.” Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, people might be concerned if Heidi was contracted with the virus, but the outlet assured that her illness had nothing to do with it.
“America’s Got Talent” is among the TV shows which have yet to announce they will be eliminating live audience amid Coronavirus concern. “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune” recently decided that they would tape without live audience in light of Coronavirus, considering that most of audience members of the shows are people in their 60s.
The fact that most of them are coming from out of town was also among the reasons why they made the decision. The production deemed the travel risky and thought that it would give a potential mean for the virus to spread.
“The Wendy Williams Show” also announced on Tuesday that it would be filmed without live studio audience for an undetermined period of time. A released statement from the 55-year-old’s show read, “Wendy values her co-hosts and their daily participation but in light of the current health climate, ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ will not have a live studio audience until further notice.” It further noted, “We will continue to produce a daily live talk show and look forward to welcoming the studio audience back when the time is right.”
“Live with Kelly and Ryan”, “The View”, “Good Morning America” and “Dr. Phil” are other shows that announced that they would film episodes in an empty studio.

“I told her to always speak your truth. She was like, ‘I don’t want to do anything wrong. I’m nervous’… I said, ‘They might boo because they don’t agree with what you are saying. That’s going to be the weirdest thing for you. It was for me, but otherwise the people are awesome,’ ” she said.

'America's Got Talent': Sofia Vergara Is Tapped to Be a New Judge, Heidi Klum Returns

    WENN/Avalon

Heidi, who was absent in the last season of the show to serve as a judge on spin-off ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’, also reveals her excitement of Sofia’s addition.
    Feb 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – A new face and a familiar face are heading to “America’s Got Talent”. Following the departure of Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough, it has been confirmed that Sofia Vergara will be joining the NBC show for the next season with Heidi Klum returning to the mothership series.
“I’m so happy to join my new family on ‘AGT’,” said the “Modern Family” star, who is the first Latina to join the show as a judge, in a statement on Thursday, February 27. “This is a new and exciting next chapter for me and I’m extremely proud to be the first Latin judge on the show. I can’t wait to watch all the talent and have fun with all you guys!”
Meanwhile, Heidi claimed in a separate statement that she was “so excited to beback at ‘AGT’ with [Simon Cowell], [Howie Mandel] and [Terry Crews].” Heidi, who has been a judge on spin-off “America’s Got Talent: The Champions”, added, “The fact that Sofia Vergara is joining us is the icing on an already delicious cake.”
Meredith Ahr, President of Alternative & Reality Group in NBC Entertainment, also gushed over Sofia. “Sofia’s infectious energy and sharp wit will blend perfectly with returning favorites Heidi, Simon, Howie, and Terry. As both a respected actress and successful entrepreneur, she embodies the American dream that is synonymous with ‘AGT’ ‘s transformative stage.”
Sofia and Heidi are set to fill the void left by Gabrielle and Julianne, who both exited the talent competition show after only one season. Reports claimed that a “toxic” workplace enviroment led Gabrielle to withdraw from the show as she was reported to be receiving racist treatments in the form of offensive joke from guest judge Jay Leno.
It was also said that the “L.A.’s Finest” alum was told that some of her hairstyles were “too black” for the show. Additionally, Gabrielle allegedly had an issue with Simon’s rumored illegal smoking on set. Following the reports, Gabrielle revealed that she had a “lengthy 5-hour and…productive meeting” with NBC, AGT production company Fremantle and Simon’s company Syco Entertainment. An investigation into the matter was supposed to wrap by the end of January, though its results are yet to be revealed.

Gabrielle Union to Sue Simon Cowell for 'Endangering Her Life' on 'America's Got Talent' Set

    WENN/Instar/Avalon

News of the reported plan comes out months after the ‘Bad Boys II’ actress got involved in a dispute with NBC and her fellow judge’s entertainment empire over her departure after only one season.
    Feb 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Gabrielle Union is reportedly planning to sue fellow “America’s Got Talent” judge Simon Cowell for “endangering her life” by smoking on the set of the NBC talent show.
The “Bad Boys 2” actress was fired from the show’s panel of judges in November (19) after just one season, amid reports suggesting her departure was linked to concerns she had raised about a number of controversial incidents which took place behind the scenes, creating a “toxic” work atmosphere.
An investigation into the complaint is currently ongoing but, according to Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper, Union has settled her dispute with the network and Syco, Cowell’s entertainment empire, over her departure – and is now planning to personally sue the mogul himself.
A source said: “Gabrielle was always cross that Simon would smoke when the cameras weren’t running.”
“For her, this is a big deal. She believes his smoking has put her life in danger. It can cause cancer and she doesn’t think she deserves to have been at risk when she was at work. This lawsuit will be sent to Simon at any moment. She is determined to see this one through.”
California has strict anti-smoking laws, banning employers from “knowingly or intentionally permitting… the smoking of tobacco products in an enclosed place of employment.”
Cowell is renowned for his smoking habit and has struggled to quit, after admitting to smoking up to 80 cigarettes a day in the past.

Heidi Klum Defends Herself After Criticized for Negating Gabrielle Union's Accusations Against 'AGT'

    WENN/Adriana M. Barraza

The ‘Project Runway’ star addresses criticisms regarding her comments that favored ‘America’s Got Talent’ amid racism allegations made by former judge Union.
    Feb 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Heidi Klum has admitted “a lot of people got mad at me” after she weighed in on the controversy surrounding Gabrielle Union’s exit from “America’s Got Talent”.
The “Bad Boys II” actress was fired from the show’s panel of judges in November 2019 after just one season, amid reports suggesting her departure was linked to concerns she had raised about a number of controversial incidents which took place behind the scenes, creating a “toxic” work atmosphere.
Speaking during the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, Klum said of her time on the series, “I can’t speak for (Gabrielle). I didn’t experience the same thing. To me, everyone treats you with the utmost respect. I’ve never seen anything that was weird or hurtful.”
However, some fans felt the star, who was a judge on the show for six seasons, was negating Gabrielle’s experience in her comments, and she told the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six she could “only speak to what I saw.”
“A lot of people got mad at me. I was called, for example, ‘a white woman,’ ” she said. “I think it is important for everyone to speak their truth. I think that when there is a story, it should be told. I had a different story.”
“I can only speak to what I saw – it has nothing to do with what colour I am,” she added. “I am a human so I just looked at what I saw.”
Union’s accusations were followed up by a “productive” meeting between the actress and network NBC, with an investigation by entertainers’ union SAG-AFTRA currently ongoing.
Klum served as a judge on the main show from 2013 to 2018, and returned for “America’s Got Talent: The Champions”, which is airing now.

Terry Crews Is Sorry for Not Supporting Gabrielle Union Amid 'America's Got Talent' Drama

    WENN/Avalon/FayesVision

The ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ star first sparked backlash after he opted out from defending the ‘Bring It On’ star despite her support for him when he opened up about his sexual assault ordeal.
    Feb 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Terry Crews has backtracked on his controversial comment. Days after coming under fire for refusing to stand up for Gabrielle Union amid the drama surrounding her firing from “America’s Got Talent”, the actor took to Twitter on Friday, January 31 to issue an apology to the actress and other black women who were hurt by his comment.
He started off by recalling something that he once told Kevin Hart, before admitting he needed to do the same thing. “I told @KevinHart4real a while ago, he needed 2 ‘acknowledge the pain of other people.’ Right now I have to do the same thing. I want to apologize for the comments I made,” he said on the app. “I realize there are a lot of Black women hurt and let down by what I said and also by what I didn’t say.”
Terry went on to assure that he supports black women, before once again apologizing for what he did. He said, “I spoke from my own personal point of without first taking into consideration someone else’s experience.” The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star also admitted he deserves all the backlash he has been receiving and hopes that “I can amend any pain I have caused to those who were hurt by my words.”
Lastly, he directly mentioned Gabrielle to let her know that “it was never my intention to invalidate your experience but that is what I did.” He added, “I apologize. You have been through a lot in this business, and with that I empathize with the struggle toward fairness and equality in the workplace.”
Calling the “Bring It On” star a “role model to the entire black community,” Terry concluded, “In my desire to be professionally neutral as your co-worker, I should have at the very least understood you just needed my support. Sincerely, Terry Crews.”

Terry Crews apologized to Gabrielle Union.
Terry first sparked outrage when he addressed Gabrielle’s exit on “3rd Hour of Today”, opting out from defending the 47-year-old star despite her support for him when he opened up about his sexual assault ordeal in the past. The backlash only got worse when he tweeted, “There is only one woman one earth I have to please. Her name is Rebecca. Not my mother, my sister, my daughters or co-workers. I will let their husbands/boyfriends/partners take care of them. Rebecca gives me WINGS.”
