Billie Eilish Strips Off During Tour to Hit Back at Body-Shamers

    Instagram

In an interlude between songs, audience members are shown a clip of the Grammy-winning singer slowly removing her shirt to eventually stand in just her bra.
    Mar 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Billie Eilish hit out at those who judge her body having “never seen” it as she shed her famously oversized clothes for a video on her new tour.
The 18-year-old singer is known for her love of boxy tops and loose-fitting trousers, which always conceal her figure. But as she kicked off her “Where Do We Go? Tour” at Miami’s American Airlines Arena on Monday night, March 9, Billie seized the opportunity to showcase a different side of herself.
In an interlude between songs, audience members were shown a clip of the teenager slowly undressing – removing her shirt to eventually stand in just her bra.
The video, which was shared on Twitter by concertgoers, was accompanied by a voiceover by Billie, in which she mused about why people are so judgmental of her figure.
“You have opinions, about my opinions, about my music, about my clothes, about my body,” she began. “Some people hate what I wear, some people praise it, some people use it to shame others, some people use it to shame me. But I feel you watching, always, and nothing I do goes unseen.
“So while I feel your stares, your disapproval, or your sigh of relief, if I lived by them, I’d never be able to move.”
Asking if fans wanted her to be “smaller, weaker, softer, taller”, Billie continued: “The body I was born with is it not what you wanted? If I wear what is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I’m a s**t. Though you’ve never seen my body, you still judge it, and judge me for it – why?”
Concluding, Billie said: “We make assumptions about people, based on their size. we decide who they are, we decide what they’re worth. If I wear more, if I wear less, who decides what that makes me? What that means? Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?”

Artist of the Week: Billie Eilish

The ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker continues to be unstoppable as she wins big at the Grammys, delivers a touching performance at the Oscars, and makes history with her James Bond song.
    Mar 2, 2020
AceShowbiz – 2020 is bound to be another big year for young rising star Billie Eilish. She kicked off the new year with a bang as she took home a total of five Golden Gramophones including the coveted Album of the Year at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards back in January.
She made history as the youngest person and first woman to win the four main categories, Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year, in the same year. It’s all thanks to her debut album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”.
The 18-year-old singer/songwriter then followed it up with a performance at the biggest movie awards, the Oscars. Joined by her brother Finneas O’Connell, she delivered a touching rendition of The Beatles’ ever-lasting single “Yesterday” during the “In Memoriam” segment.
On top of that, she has been enlisted to sing the title track for the upcoming twenty-fifth installment in the James Bond film franchise, “No Time to Die”. With her brother as a producer, she became the youngest artist in history to write and record a 007 theme song.
Shortly after it’s released and debuted during her live performance at the Brit Awards, the single soared to No. 1 on the U.K. charts. It became the second Bond song to top the charts and also gave the female artist her first number one single in the United Kingdom.
Despite all her accomplishments, Billie Eilish keeps herself grounded. On the Grammy night during the Album of the Year winner announcement, she was caught on camera repeatedly mouthing, “Please don’t be me,” before yelling, “No!!” when she’s announced as the victor.
During her acceptance speech, she revealed she was actually rooting for fellow artist Ariana Grande. “Can I just say that I think Ariana deserves this?” she said. ” ‘Thank U, Next’ got me through some s**t, and I think it deserves this more than anything in the world.”
Her brother later explained her reluctance to receive the award, “We were both kind of embarrassed to win so much; you hope that it will be kind of equal, but after the third in a row…well, we love all of our fellow nominees.”
She also had an unlikely reaction to her Oscar performance. Despite getting rave reviews online, she said it could have been better. “I bombed that performance,” she said. “That was trash.”

Joined by her brother Finneas on the piano, the songstress wows both the audience and viewers at home with her rendition of the Daniel Craig-starring movie’s theme song.
    Feb 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Billie Eilish has left audience and viewers at the 2020 BRIT Awards stunned. On Tuesday night, February 18, the “Bad Guy” hitmaker took the stage at The O2 Arena in London to deliver her first live performance of her new James Bond theme song, “No Time to Die”.
Donning a black two-piece with her loose neon green tinted locks, the 18-year-old singer was accompanied by her record producer brother, Finneas O’Connell, on the piano. “Fool me once, fool me twice/ Are you death or paradise?/ Now you’ll never see me cry/ There’s just no time to die,” she belted out while audience could be heard occasionally shouting, “I love you!”

At the prize-giving show, the multiple Grammy winner was presented with Best International Female Solo Artist kudo from Spice Girls’ Melanie C. When accepting the accolade, she confessed, “I’ve felt very hated recently. And, when I was on the stage and I saw you guys all smiling at me. It genuinely made me wanna cry. And I wanna cry right now, so thank you.”
Hours before her live performance, Billie talked about being asked to sing the Bond theme song. During an interview with BBC Breakfast, she shared, “We’ve been wanting to make a Bond song for years. I remember at the beginning of last year we kind of told our whole team, ‘Hey, if any Bond things come up, we want to be involved if we can possibly be. Whatever we have to do we will do.’ ”
Speaking of the song’s live debut at the show, the “Wish You Were Gay” singer admitted, “I’m so scared.” She continued to share, “We’ve never performed it ever, so it feels so weird that it’s in the public, especially now that I’m performing it and I’m hitting a note I’ve never hit before. I’m scared.”

Billie Eilish and Finneas Get to Read 'No Time to Die' Script Before Creating Theme Song

    WENN/Avalon

During an interview for ‘Good Morning America’, score composer Hans Zimmer reveals that the ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker and her producer brother have also watched the upcoming James Bond film.
    Feb 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Songwriter and producer FINNEAS scored a sneak peek at the new Bond movie script after signing up to create the film’s theme tune with his sister, Billie Eilish.
The hitmaker had always dreamed of composing a 007 theme and when he got the call, he wanted to make sure his effort would be a hit among the film’s producers.
“We didn’t want to go in blind, so we asked if we could have any of the script and we were given a scene of the script to read and that informed all the lyrics,” FINNEAS tells “Good Morning America”.
The film’s score composer Hans Zimmer also insisted Billie and FINNEAS got to see the film, “They were there and we were here (in London) and they hadn’t seen the movie, so I said, ‘Would you mind jumping onto a plane and sitting in a sweaty little cutting room in the middle of the night, completely jetlagged, and watch this movie.”
    [embedded content]
FINNEAS is thrilled with the end result, “No Time to Die”, which Zimmer and Bond director Cary Joji Fukunaga are raving about, and admits the new Bond film title was a big help. “We knew we wanted the song to be the same title as the film, so we lucked out on the title,” he explains. “It wasn’t called Quantum of Solace! It’s a wonderful film title, wonderful film, but hard song title to write.”

Billie Eilish Deems Her 2020 Oscars Performance 'Trash'

    WENN/Instar

Aside from talking about her ‘Yesterday’ cover in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker admits she felt somewhat out of place at the coveted awards ceremony.
    Feb 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Billie Eilish wasn’t a fan of her performance at the Oscars last weekend (February 09), calling it “trash.”
The 18-year-old singer performed a cover of The Beatles’ “Yesterday” during the In Memoriam segment, when pictures of people the entertainment world has lost during the past year were shown on a screen.
However, during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, set to air on Friday, Billie revealed she was poorly for the awards ceremony, and doesn’t think her rendition of the tune was one of her best.
“I was sick for all of the Oscars, I bombed that performance,” she said. “That was trash.”
Billie went on to admit she felt somewhat out of place during the Oscars, because she didn’t know many of the famous faces who were there.
“I’m not used to that,” she said. “At least the Grammys wasn’t as scary because it was, like, artists,” she explained. “And it felt like my people, it felt like, ‘Oh, look, a bunch of artists!’ And I knew a lot of them already and I’d met them and they knew of me.”
The teenager was speaking to promote her new song from the film “No Time to Die”. She penned the tune with brother FINNEAS in just three days, and said having the chance to work with her sibling on something so massive as a Bond theme was a lifelong dream.

“You know what’s funny about it, like two years ago, we were like, wouldn’t it be crazy to make a song for the Bond movies, and, like, wouldn’t that be dope?” she explained. “And so, kind of for two years-ish, we’ve been subconsciously trying to… in our own way. And, like, we’ve written songs that have never come out that are, like, oh, this sounds like Bond, like, this would be dope, like, it would never happen, whatever. And then this offer came up and we were like, ‘Ahhhh!’ ”

Billie Eilish's Brother Finneas O'Connell Says They are 'Embarrassed' by Grammys Wins

    WENN/Adriana M. Barraza

The 22-year-old record producer admits in a recent interview that they are ‘kind of embarrassed to win so much’ and hope the wins will be ‘equal’ between other nominees.
    Feb 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Billie Eilish and her record producer brother are apparently conflicted about their big win at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. The pair took home a total of five trophies each, including four major accolades, during the January 26 ceremony, but Finneas O’Connell admitted they were rather “embarrassed” by it.
The 22-year-old musician shared his thought on the matter in a new interview with Vogue magazine. Asked if he and his sister were prepared for the possibility of sweeping the awards show, he responded, “We were both kind of embarrassed to win so much; you hope that it will be kind of equal, but after the third in a row…well, we love all of our fellow nominees.”
On how his sister took in her multiple wins, the former “Glee” star spilled, “She was very grateful, obviously, and a lot of her friends were there. She has more ‘go with the flow’ than I do.” He additionally confessed, “We were hoping…between the two of us, we had 11 nominations, so we were brave enough to hope that maybe we’d get one. I would have been thrilled with that.”
The songwriter, who helped produce Selena Gomez’s “Lose You to Love Me”, went on to reveal he actually rooted for fellow nominees Lizzo and Lil Nas X. “I thought ‘Truth Hurts’ would win record of the year, and I thought ‘Old Town Road’ would win song of the year, because it was,” he shared. “I was hopeful about album of the year, and that’s one that I’m really proud of, because I love listening to that album front to back. That was the only one that I was like, ‘Maybe!’ ”
Elsewhere in the interview, Finneas recounted how he and Billie celebrated their big wins. “We were forced to party, which I hate doing,” he stated. “If we’d lost, at least I wouldn’t have had to party.” When pressed about he would rather have done, he replied, “Anything. People say that, and really milk it as something that they brag about, but I would never do that. I just have no interest in being at a party.”
Finneas and Billie shared three kudos at the 2020 Grammys. Together they won Song of the Year and Record of the Year for “Bad Guy” in addition to Album of the Year for “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”. Individually, he nailed Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical and Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, while she scored Best Pop Vocal Album and Best New Artist.

Billie Eilish Drives Internet Wild With 'No Time to Die' Theme Song – Listen!

Proving her haters wrong, the Grammy-winning songstress showcases her high notes on the moody track she produces alongside her brother and longtime collaborator Finneas.
    Feb 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Back when Billie Eilish was announced as “No Time to Die” theme song singer, many cast doubts that she would do as good as Adele or Sam Smith due to her musical style. However, the Grammy-winning singer proved the critics wrong when she released the song on Thursday evening, February 13, setting Internet abuzz.
Co-written by her and her brother Finneas, the haunting ballad finds Billie showcasing her raw, soulful vocalization over piano-driven melodies. Proving those who expected it to be a “whisper” song wrong, she even flexes her high notes towards the end of the song, before she continues singing, “Fool me once, fool me twice/ Are you death or paradise?/ Now you’ll never see me cry/ There’s just no time to die.”
    [embedded content]
Following the release of the song, Billie’s name soon started trending on social media with a lot of people heaping praises for her. “Everyone who says ‘bIlLie EiLiSh cAnT sInG sHe WhIsPeRs’ needs to re-evaluate immediately,” one says. “Just died listening to Billie eilish new song even tho the title is no time to die,” another quipped.
“Beautiful. Billie Eilish puts her raw emotion into her music and that’s why I love it so much,” someone else gushed, as another praised Billie, “Her voice is totally made for this song! She’s taken a lot of stick and proven so many wrong. Well done Billie.” There was also one who said, “LOL I SAID TO MYSELF, this sounds like its from james bond lmao, looked at the screen again and saw oo7 at the top. Wow she really did empower her theme correctly. Good work Billie.”
Billie is the youngest artist to ever write and record a James Bond theme. She’s set to perform the song for the first time at the Brit Awards in London on February 18. In a statement to Variety, she said of her participation, “It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.”
“No Time to Die” is set for an April 10 release in the United States.
