  • Cardi B Stands Up for Kylie Jenner Following Backlash Over Her 'WAP' Music Video Cameo

    Instagram

In response to fans’ demand for the removal of the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star from the video, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker reminds, ‘This is not about f**kin race.’
    Aug 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Cardi B has defended Kylie Jenner amid a fan petition to have the reality star removed from the rapper’s “WAP” music video.
Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion dropped the video for their collaboration on Thursday (August 06), featuring an array of famous faces including Normani Kordei, Rosalia and Kylie, who struts her stuff around the house in a plunging leopard-print bodysuit and matching cape.
However, the reality star’s appearance riled fans, who headed online to demand her removal and, after a Change.org petition was started over the weekend, labeling Jenner a “culture vulture,” the “Bodak Yellow” star hit back on Twitter, insisting, “Not everything is about race.”
“Normani did ALL this and Kylie walked down the hall and opened a door. If that’s not a perfect visual indication of Black women having to do the most…” wrote one fan, prompting the hitmaker’s response.
“Normani is one of the best female artist that dances like she dances her f**kin ass off!” Cardi wrote. “Why would she open a door? Please tell me how that would make sense? The best part of the song is the beat and hook, it what makes you want to shake your a**.”
She continued, “Not everything is about race. Theres issues out here in the world that is about race and I preach all the time about. This is not about f**kin race.”

Cardi B clapped back at backlash over Kylie Jenner’s cameo in ‘WAP’.
“Why did I put Kylie on my music video? She treated my sister and daughter so lovely at her kid’s bday party,” Cardi insisted in a final tweet. “Travis (Scott, Kylie’s ex) and Set (Offset, Cardi’s husband) are real close and Kris Jenner have given me advice on certain things I ask for and her husband real cool with mine.”

  • Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion Slammed as Danger to Young Girls Over Their Collab 'WAP'

California Republican congressional candidate James P. Bradley says the song makes him want to ‘pour holy water in my ears,’ while political correspondent DeAnna Lorraine calls the song ‘vile.’
    Aug 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s fans may be all ears to their recently released collaboration “WAP”, but not everyone shares the same feeling. Despite the so-called female empowerment anthem, the two rappers have been trashed online for their song.
James P. Bradley, a Republican running for a Congressional seat in California, took issue with their provocative lyrics. Claiming that he “accidentally” heard the song, he tweeted, “Their new ‘song’ The #WAP (which i heard accidentally) made me want to pour holy water in my ears.”
The politician expressed his concern about Cardi and Megan’s influence on young girls, writing, “I feel sorry for future girls if this is their role model!” He went on speculating, “Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion are what happens when children are raised without God and without a strong father figure.”
Former Republican Congressional candidate DeAnna Lorraine also slammed the song as “disgusting” and “vile,” and disagreed with the notion that the song is a female empowerment anthem. She said the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker and the “Savage” raptress are “completely wrong” if they think the song does “anything to empower women.”
Needless to say, the two political figures have faced backlash from the two raptress’ fans for calling out their favorite stars. One person questioned James’ claim that he unintentionally heard the song, responding to his tweet, ” ‘Accidentally’ [a face with tears of joy emoji] You’re trying to represent my district and this is the first I’ve heard from you? No, thanks.”
“I love how old white people love to complain about rap music but won’t acknowledge that 75% of all the revenue made by rap music comes from their children and grandchildren,” another added. A third user brought up First Lady Melania Trump’s old nude pictures and sarcastically wrote, “You’re totally right, they should do it the way @FLOTUS did it…. A prime example of a lady… Right???”
Someone else took a jab at the right-wing politician over his support for President Donald Trump, “The guy you vote for and support grabs pussies for s**ts and giggles and bangs porn stars when he’s bored. Careful you don’t drown in all that holy water.”
On DeAnna’s tweet, one person wrote back, “I’m interested to know how you have the time to comment on WAP but not the thousands of other amazing contributions made by Black women or Black men. You ‘care’ so much about the community and impressionable minds but what have you done outside of critique to uplift them?!!?!”

  • Cardi B: Original 'WAP' With Megan Thee Stallion Is Too Nasty for Radio

    YouTube

The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker reveals she had to clean up her new collaboration with the ‘Hot Girl Summer’ star before sending it to radio because it’s too filthy.
    Aug 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Cardi B teamed up with Megan Thee Stallion on her new track “WAP” as she’s the nastiest rapper she knows – but they had to clean up the song’s explicit meanings.
The New York rapper told Boston, Massachusetts station Hot95.9 what the song’s title stands for during an interview – revealing “WAP” is a shortening of “Wet A** P**sy.”
Explaining why she asked Megan to appear, Cardi added, “The song is really nasty. The song always been nasty. My verses and the hook has been the same since before Megan was there. So it just always been a nasty song and it’s like, ‘Who’s saying more nastier things than Megan?’ ”
Revealing how difficult it was to make the song acceptable for radio, she adds, “It was really hard for me to clean this song up.”
“WAP” is the lead single from the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker’s long-awaited second album, the follow-up to her 2018 debut “Invasion of Privacy”.
The video is equally raunchy and sees Cardi and Megan exploring a mansion that features butt sculptures, breast fountains, tigers and leopards. Kylie Jenner makes an appearance, strutting around the house in a plunging leopard-print bodysuit and matching cape, with former Fifth Harmony star Normani also showing off her impressive dance moves in another room.

  • Report: Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's 'Wap' Music Video to Feature Kylie Jenner

    WENN

Not only the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star, but the visuals allegedly will also see a number of stars like Sukihana, Rubi Rose and Mulatto making appearances.
    Aug 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – More details about Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s highly-anticipated single have surfaced online. It’s now being reported that the accompanying music video will feature none other than Kylie Jenner.
Not only the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star, but the visuals allegedly will also see a number of stars like Sukihana, Rubi Rose and Mulatto making appearances. Reports additionally suggested that the music video was filmed one week prior to Kylie’s infamous pool party where Megan got shot in both feet.
Both “Wap” and its music video are expected to be released on Friday, August 7.
Cardi announced the single earlier this week, revealing the artwork that saw her and Megan posing with their backs facing each other. In addition to that, the female rappers sported matching hairstyles and gold earrings as both of them covered their private parts with their hands and stuck their tongues out. News of the single drew fans wild to the point that it crashed Cardi’s website.
“Wap” is expected to serve as the first single off Cardi’s upcoming sophomore album. Even though she has yet to give more details about the effort like its tracklist and title, the Grammy winner previously said that the album is expected to hit the stores this year.
In an interview with Forbes, Cardi admitted to being “a little bit stressful” while working on the upcoming project because she felt the need to make it better than her debut album “Invasion of Privacy”. She said, “I was never the type of person that worried about the success of music, but the pressure that people put on you when it comes to it, it gives you this pressure. And then, on top of that, I feel like music is changing.”
She continued, “So I feel like I’m not really sure what people are looking for. But I’m just going to have fun in the studio and do what I like to do, and make what I would like to hear. I’m not worried about anybody else but myself.”

    Jul 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Cardi B is having a heated back-and-forth with TikTok rapper Dela Wesst after the latter came up with allegations that the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker stole her bars for Offset’s “Clout” and Blueface’s “Thotiana (Remix)”. Not letting anyone taking her credit, Cardi quickly clapped back and pulled out her receipts.
“@iamcardib BE BOUT IT, BABY. You mean to tell me you just CONFIRMED you are 100% aware of the stealing of my lyrics, BUT THEN GON STILL FIND A WAY TO EVADE THE SUBJECT?! KNOT today, Satan. #DelaWesst #TheOGCopy,” Dela first started the online spat on Tuesday, June 30.

Dela Wesst called out Cardi B for allegedly stealing her bars.
Further making things complicated, Dela fired back to the Grammy-winning rapper. “Starting a record in January does not mean you finished that record in January. I clearly wrote this the day before you debuted it the internet. I didn’t hear the section of the song THAT EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT. I am also not hearing by any ‘CLOUTS’ in the verse,” she argued, to which Cardi responded, “jUsT cAUsE yOu sTArTED the song iN jAnUARy don’t mean you finished it THEN WTF IS THIS THEN B***H ! Cardi continued to have a heated exchange with Dela.

  • Cardi B Uses Twitter's Voice Note for Sam Smith Remix as Nicki Minaj Seeks Credit for New Feature

    WENN

The ‘Bodak Yellow’ femcee pranks her Twitter followers with a fake remix while her rival credits herself for the newly-minted voice note launched by Twitter.
    Jun 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Rapper Cardi B fooled fans on Thursday, June 18, 2020 by pretending to have recorded an official remix to Sam Smith’s hit song “How Do You Sleep?”.
The “I Like It” hitmaker decided to have a little fun with Twitter’s new voice notes function, which allows users to record up to 140 seconds of audio to post online and shared a clip of Smith’s music video with her 12.5 million followers.
She sent some fans into overdrive as she captioned it, “Remix is out now” – until they realised the cheeky MC had just dubbed her voice over the Brit’s as she sang along to the tune.
Meanwhile, Cardi’s rap rival, Nicki Minaj, is seeking credit for the audio tweet function from Twitter bosses, after proposing the idea three years ago.
She shared an Instagram image of a message from 2017 when she wrote, “If Twitter came out with a way for me to voice note my tweets they’d be winning. Give me my money tho. Give me my money (sic).”
Calling on fans to urge platform bosses to reward her for the idea, which was rolled out this week, she captioned the old tweet, “Can y’all go on Twitter & tell them give me my money for this new voice note feature I told them to add in 2017 (sic)?”
Twitter officials have yet to respond to Nicki’s gripe.
