Following DaBaby’s clarification of the name-drop of the former child star, some Internet users jump to the ‘Masterpiece’ spitter’s defense as one writes in an Instagram comment, ‘Y’all just don’t understand his word play.’

    Feb 22, 2021
AceShowbiz – DaBaby released a new freestyle on Saturday, February 20 and he successfully confused fans as he appeared to diss former child star JoJo Siwa. Titled “Beatbox Freestyle”, the song saw the “ROCKSTAR” spitter taking aim at the 17-year-old YouTube star.
“Turn me up, n***a gon’ see why/ N***a, you a b***h, JoJo Siwa (B***h),” so he rapped in his version of Spotem Gottem’s “Beatbox”. While the rhyme matched perfectly, fans couldn’t help but criticize DaBaby for the name-drop as blogger Perez Hilton wrote on Twitter, “DaBaby is disrespecting our queen #JoJoSiwa! Oh, hell no!!!.”
A fan of the “Dance Moms” alum chimed in, “what kind of beef could DaBaby possibly have with JoJo Siwa.” Someone else added, “Out of all the people on the INTERNET… jojo siwa…. girl wut?”
DaBaby apparently caught wind of the backlash and responded in a tweet. ” I love Twitter bruh,” so the rapper wrote alongside several laughing and crying emojis. “I ‘Siwa’ I’m not like the rest of you n****s.”

In a follow-up tweet, DaBaby revealed that he had no hard feelings for the former child star and it was all love for her. “@itsjojosiwa my 3 year old princess is your number 1 fan. I bought her every product you have out. She think she you,” he wrote on the blue bird app. “Don’t let em trick you into thinking id ever have a problem with you. My word play just went over their heads. All love on my end shawty, Keep shinning!”

The hip-hop star continued to poke fun at his own word play as he added in a separate tweet, “I don’t ‘Siwa’ they so mad either bae.”
Following the clarification, some Internet users jumped to DaBaby’s defense. “Y’all just don’t understand his word play,” one noted in an Instagram comment. “IT’S SAD THAT ARTIST HAVE TO EVEN EXPLAIN THEMSELVES. MY GOSH,” another fan added. “Y’all definitely stretched it. The word play was obvious,” someone chimed in.
JoJo, meanwhile, has yet to comment on the name-drop.

The ‘Hot Girl Summer’ raptress and the ‘Suge’ hitmaker turn into action figures with the former clad in various sexy lingerie while partying with her collaborator.

    Feb 4, 2021
AceShowbiz – Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby have released a toy-themed music video for their collaboration “Cry Baby”, but it’s definitely not for children. The two rappers teamed up for visuals filled with steamy scenes, despite the video being set in a toy store.
Megan and DaBaby turn into action figures who party in the store, when it appears to be closed with not a single person inside. They cruise in a toy car along the alleys of the shop, with the “Hot Girl Summer” hitmaker occasionally showing off her twerking skills.
Rocking various sexy lingerie, the “WAP” raptress is also joined by scantily-clad backing dancers as she shows some sexy moves in a dollhouse. After all their antics, the video ends with a scene showing the mess Megan and DaBaby have created.

On the track, Megan and DaBaby talk about their active sex lives, claiming that both of their body counts are so sky-high that even their friends and parents are being a “cry baby” about it. “That ain’t DaBaby, that’s my baby/ Her friends and mom hate me (Go)/ Lay down on the bed, do the crybaby (Mmm),” the “Bop” spitter raps in the chorus. “She ain’t gave me none of that pussy in a while/ She had the boy waitin’, I don’t mind waitin’ (Come here).”
Megan and DaBaby previously teamed up for “Cash S**t” in 2019 and “NASTY” in April 2020. In a November 2020 interview with SiriusXM’s “Hip-Hop Nation”, Megan talked about her chemistry with the Charlotte rapper and admitted that they “often talk about” working together on a collaborative project, similar to “Watch the Throne”. “We definitely need to get to work on that,” she teased.

  • DaBaby Called Out for Ignoring Social Distancing Measures at Independence Day Concert

    Instagram

The ‘Bob’ hitmaker and his promoters are facing criticisms after pictures show people at his Fourth of July with no masks while crowding together at the venue.
    Jul 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Rapper DaBaby and organisers behind his packed Saturday night (04Jul20) concert in Georgia have come under fire on social media for failing to implement social distancing measures.
The “Suge” star ignored coronavirus concerns and pressed ahead with his Fourth of July celebration at the Cosmopolitan Premier Lounge in Decatur even though positive tests across the state have spiked in recent days.
Prior to the gig, promoter MyDJDre told TMZ the venue would only be at 40 per cent capacity to allow for attendees to socially distance while inside the club, which has room for 4,000 people while fans would also be turned away at the door if they failed to wear a mask or refused to have their temperature checked upon entry.
However, photos and video footage from the show have since emerged online, showing partygoers crowded together without masks.
DaBaby was also supposed to be limited to having a three-person entourage with him during his performance, but he appeared to bring a host of others up on the platform too, all standing along the back of the stage.
After the footage began circulating on social media, many concerned users shared their disapproval at the apparent lack of concern for public safety.
Responding to the club’s DJ, who boasted about DaBaby’s gig attracting “the whole city” in an Instagram post, one person remarked, “I wouldn’t be bragging that ‘the whole city came out’ in the middle of a pandemic.”
“This is so irresponsible. You should be ashamed,” read another comment.
And a devotee declared: “I absolutely love Dababy and his music but this is such an awful idea. Risking thousands of lives for a silly a** concert is so foolish. Cancel this ridiculousness.”
DaBaby and MyDJDre have yet to respond to the latest backlash.

The ‘Suge’ rapper’s collaboration single with Roddy Ricch has become the Billboard Hot 100’s 1,104th number one, dethroning Megan Thee Stallion’s remix duet with Beyonce Knowles, ‘Savage’.
    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – DaBaby’s “Rockstar” has hit the top of the U.S. charts to become the Billboard Hot 100’s 1,104th number one.
It’s the rapper’s first chart-topper and his collaborator Roddy Ricch’s second in a year.
“Rockstar” also sets a new chart record for successive collaborative U.S. number one runs, making it six weeks of six different chart-toppers, all recorded by two stars.

Former number one “Savage”, by Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce Knowles, holds at two, while The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” rises to three, ahead of Doja Cat’s “Say So” and last week’s number one hit, Lady GaGa and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me”, which falls to five.
