  • 'DWTS' Denies Approaching Taryn Manning Numerous Times: It's the Other Way Around

    WENN

A representative for ‘Dancing with the Stars’ insists it was the ‘Orange Is the New Black’ actress who repeatedly asked to be on the show but the show turned her down.

    Oct 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – A representative for U.S. TV show “Dancing with the Stars” has slammed Taryn Manning’s claims that she’d turned down the chance to appear on the show.
The “Orange Is the New Black” star told the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six that she opted against competing on the talent competition for fears she would be viewed as a “has been.”
“I’ve been asked to be on many times,” she said. “I have this weird phobia that (competing on the show) means you’re a has-been, and I never want to believe that’s the case. Maybe it’s my own stuff, but, yeah, I’m definitely a good dancer.”

However, a spokesperson for “Dancing With the Stars” has denied her claims, insisting she was the one who asked to be part of the show but they declined.
“Taryn claims she’s been asked to join the cast ‘many times,’ however, we have never asked Taryn to be part of the show,” the representative said. “Her representation attempted to pitch her to us a while back and we kindly passed. So her claim that she was asked to join DWTS once, never mind many times, is completely false.”
“Her thoughts that the contestants consist of ‘has-beens’ seems to be her own projection onto talent that we have asked to cast.”
Former “Desperate Housewives” star Jesse Metcalfe was voted off the current season of the show earlier this week (beg12Oct20), while rapper Nelly and Backstreet Boys singer A.J. McLean are among the celebrities still dancing on the series.

    Oct 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jesse Metcalfe has credited his stint on “Dancing with the Stars” for helping him to lose 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms) and improve his posture.
The former “Desperate Housewives” star became the latest celebrity to be sent home from the competition on Monday night (12Oct20), after he and partner Sharna Burgess failed to impress the judges with their tango to Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” during the show’s 80s night.
And while he only lasted five weeks on the programme, Jesse will continue to enjoy the effects of following such a rigorous exercise regime.

I trimmed down, I lost 10 pounds and I really think it helped with my posture,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Overall it was just such an amazing experience. It was very challenging but incredibly rewarding.”
Professional dancer Sharna added that she was “so proud” of the screen star, despite their exit from the show.
“Jesse has done an amazing job at stepping up, with absolutely no experience whatsoever, and doing something that is incredibly difficult,” she smiled. “And doing it in front of millions of people! I’m proud of him. I wish we could have gone further, for sure, because there’s so much I wanted to show. But I’m grateful that we got to do the five weeks that we did.”

    Oct 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – It is no stranger for athletes to joining ABC’s dancing competition show. One person that people may want to see dancing on the ballroom is NBA star Shaquille O’Neal. Unfortunately, the athlete has now shared that he has no intention to appear on the show.
“I can’t do it, yeah. I wouldn’t do it now,” the 48-year-old told Us Weekly while promoting American Express’ “Business Class LIVE: Summit for Success”. “I like being the innovator. If it was season 1, I would do it. But I can’t do it in season 2 [or after].”
During the interview, he also talked about former NBA player Charles Oakley, who is currently competing in season 29 of “Dancing with the Stars” alongside pro-dancer Emma Slater. “I thought his feet work was pretty nice,” he praised Oakley. “He looked really good at something that they’d been wanting me to do for a while, but I don’t have enough discipline and courage to do it.”

Further praising Oakley, the former Los Angeles Lakers star added, “[Charles] looks really good. Now, he was always a guy that stayed in shape and it was really good and his outfit and his hips are still working really good.”
O’Neal has been supportive for Oakley as he urged his followers to vote for Oakley and Slater. “You kno who to vote for @therealoak34 had some great feetwork,” he wrote via Instagram on September 22. Slater caught wind of the shout-out and responded to it on Twitter. “I’m about to faint over here @SHAQ just posted for @CharlesOakley34 on #DWTS Wow! Thank you Shaq!” she said at the time.

O’Neal is now focusing on Business Class LIVE: Summit for Success, a virtual event in which he’s scheduled to participate on October 29. “Myself and American Express, we want to continue to support small businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of the country,” O’Neal explained. “A lot of African American people own small businesses, and because of what’s going on [with COVID-19], a lot of people are losing everything. So, we just wanna show our support.”

  • Chrishell Stause and Her 'DWTS' Pro Partner Make Up With Roses After 'First Fight'

The ‘Selling Sunset’ star posts on Instagram a picture of her holding a gorgeous flower bouquet from Gleb Savchenko, writing, ‘If apologies look like THIS, I guess it’s not so bad!!’
    Oct 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Chrishell Stause is one of the celebrity contestants who are competing in the current season 29 of “Dancing with the Stars”. She has the show’s pro dancer Gleb Savchenko as her partner and it seems his strict Russian nature leads to their “first fight,” four weeks after working together.
Detailing the matter on an Instagram post Thursday, October 8, the “Selling Sunset” star wrote, “Ok full disclosure, @glebsavchenkoofficial and I had our first fight-ha!” She posted a picture of her holding a gorgeous flower bouquet which apparently was from Gleb.
“If apologies look like THIS, I guess it’s not so bad!!” she went on saying. “We both care so much and I love the passion he brings to what he does. We are working on me picking up some of his strict Russian nature, and I am softening him up with a little southern charm. Finding the balance landed us here and I truly think this could be our best week yet.”

Gleb commented on the post with heart emojies. Singer Jana Kramer, who was partnered with Gleb when she appeared on ABC’s dancing competition back in 2016, also chimed in the comment section, writing, “Hahahaha get ready girl!!!”
Prior to this, the estranged wife of Justin Hartley talked about her friendship with Gleb. “He is the absolute best. I absolutely love him. He is so patient and he’s just … he knows how to push me, but not in a way that’s intimidating, and I think that that is a little bit what I was scared of working with a pro,” she gushed over him. “I just felt there’s a lot of intimidation there with feeling like they’re going to be disappointed when they find out they were paired with you, because there are some people that are already so talented.”
She continued, “I feel like I’m paired with the perfect person that I know I’m going to get the best I possibly could get with him, because we do have such a chemistry and a bond, and I feel like I really trust him.”
Of the way he teaches her dancing, Chrishell said, “He’s had me do all these exercises where there are so many times I kept trying to do something and he’s like, ‘You have to wait for me. You don’t move unless I move.’ He has all of these different exercises that are really focused on that, where it’s like, just let him do all the work and you have to stay back and listen. It’s a really bonding experience doing that with somebody.”
The actress and reality star added, “At this point I just feel so close to him and I feel like he’s somebody I’m going to be friends with for the rest of my life, for sure.”

  • 'DWTS' Executive Producer Defends Host Tyra Banks Following Major Mishap

    Instagram

The ABC show’s judge Bruno Tonioli also defends the host, praising the supermodel and saying that ‘she was really good because she took control of the situation.’
    Oct 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tyra Banks’ hosting gig on “Dancing with the Stars” doesn’t really go smooth. After making some flubs in previous episodes, the supermodel experienced major “technical error” in the Monday, October 5 episode of the long-running TV show.
In the episode, Tyra made a mistake while announcing the bottom two in the final moments. Of the flub, executive producer Andrew Llinares praised the new host for dealing with the on-air drama “amazingly.” Llinares added, “I just want to be really clear, this was not Tyra’s fault. It was a behind-the-scenes issue.”
“I was in the control room when this happened. The votes and results coming in is one of the most dramatic moments in the show, but it was a little more dramatic than we were hoping for last night, in a very unexpected way,” he went on saying. “There was a technical issue as the actual votes were coming in last night. What happened was, Tyra actually had the wrong names on her card.”
“I think she did an amazing job rectifying what happened live on the show. It’s not an easy thing to do, what she did,” he then gushed over Tyra. “There’s a lot of undo criticism, I think, around Tyra. I just think she’s doing an amazing job on this show. And I could not be more thrilled with the way that she dealt with this moment on the show.”
Llinares also claimed that they would be “having meetings today with everybody that’s involved in our voting to make sure that nothing like this happens again.”

Judge Bruno Tonioli also defended the host. “It’s live television, things like this happen, especially with information coming in from all over the country, voting and calculating in such a small amount of time,” he shared to Entertainment Tonight. Calling Tyra “brilliant,” he added, “She was really good because she took control of the situation.”
Of fans’ outcry to bring back former co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, Bruno urged people to “let [Tyra] do it her way.” He continued, “It’s a bit tiring, all the negativity, in not even giving people a chance. Just let her be who she is. It’s great to work with her.”
He added, “We’re in a world that always focuses on the negative and I found that quite upsetting. You can’t compare apples to pears, you know? You get different things, and you have to allow someone to do things their own way.”
Tyra also apologized for the error. Writing on Twitter on Monday, she said, “Wowzers. Live TV. Wrong name on cards. So challenging to deal with moments like these. But we power through.”
That night, Tyra initially announced that Monica Aldama and her pro partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy were safe, only to retract it as the pair were actually in the bottom two alongside Anne Heche and Keo Motsepe, who were eliminated that night. “There’s been an error in our control room, but we’re making it happen,” the host explained. “This is live TV, right? This is the craziness of live TV.”

  • 'DWTS': Anne Heche 'Stormed Off' the After Being 'Furious' Over Elimination

    Instagram

The ‘Volcano’ actress reportedly quickly drove off the studio lot after being sent home by the long-running ABC dancing competition show on Monday, October 5.
    Oct 7, 2020
AceShowbiz – Anne Heche is not happy with the results of the latest episode of “Dancing with the Stars” on Monday, October 5 which saw her and pro dancer Keo Motsepe getting eliminated. The actress reportedly was “furious,” prompting her to storm off the set.
According to Page Six, the ex-girlfriend of Ellen DeGeneres refused to do press after the episode concluded. The publication also claimed that she quickly drove off the studio lot after being sent home by the long-running ABC dancing competition show.
“Anne was not happy — she was furious,” a source shared to the site. “She drove off the lot and refused to do any press.”

In the episode, Anne was getting candid about her past relationship with Ellen which she claimed cost her a “multimillion dollar movie deal.” She told the site on Tuesday evening, “The honest truth is that it took 20 years to process and share that story, so finally, telling it and being voted off on the same night was not the best feeling.”
The “Volcano” star, who started dating Ellen for 3 years before breaking up in 2000, continued, “It did feel good to tell my story to show that we have come a long way, and we see things with more acceptance now – even though we are not all the way there yet, it’s important to recognize how far we have come.”
When the episode was upsetting for Anne, it was rather confusing for viewers and the show judges. That night, host Tyra Banks made a major mistake after announcing that “Cheer” star Monica Aldama and her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy were safe, only to clarify later that they were actually in the bottom two with Anne and Keo. “There has been an error in the control room. This is the craziness of live TV. I’m so sorry. This is live TV,” the supermodel explained.
