'Home Alone 2' Fans Demand Removal of Trump's Cameo Following Capitol Riot

    20th Century Fox

People call for the movie to digitally edit the scene featuring the outgoing president and replace him with Barack Obama or Joe Biden after he incited the violent protest at the Capitol Hill.

    Jan 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – Donald Trump’s desire to leave longtime legacy with his presidency has backfired. As his days in the office are numbered, the outgoing president has been blamed for the Capitol Hill riot, banned on Twitter and now he’s threatened to be cut from “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”.
In the wake of the violent protest that caused the death of five people, including a cop, fans of the movie call for removal of Trump’s cameo. In the 1992 cult Christmas film, the 45th POTUS is featured in a scene where Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McCallister asks Trump for directions while lost in New York.
“Digitally remove him from Home Alone 2 next,” one fan wrote on Twitter. Another tweeted, “Disney should remove Donald Trump from Home Alone 2.” Some others demanded that Trump be replaced with former president Barack Obama or Trump’s successor Joe Biden in the scene, with someone having launched a Change.org petition for the replacement.

Taking matter into their own hands, some Twitter folks have gone as far as altering the scene and replacing Trump with various public figures, including Christopher Plummer, Keanu Reeves, a “Star Wars” character as well as an older version of Culkin.
Prior to this, Trump’s cameo in “Home Alone 2” was cut by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation from the broadcast during the 2019 Christmas. The move was made to make more room for commercials.
Meanwhile, back in November 2020, the movie director Chris Columbus revealed that Trump was “bullying” his way into the movie as he demanded to be in the sequel in exchange for a permit to shoot in the lobby of The Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time.

The Killers Channel Donald Trump as They React to 2021 Grammy Nomination Snub

    Instagram/WENN

The rock band fronted by Brandon Flowers poke fun at the MAGA leader as they respond to the Recording Academy after being snubbed in the 2021 nominations.

    Nov 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – The Killers poked fun at U.S. President Donald Trump while addressing their lack of Grammy nominations.
The rockers failed to pick up any nods for their 2020 album “Imploding the Mirage” when the nominations were announced on Tuesday (24Nov20), prompting the group to take to Twitter with a tongue-in-cheek response.
Jokingly mirroring the American leader’s unwillingness to concede the U.S. election following Joe Biden’s victory earlier this month, as well as his unfounded accusations of voter fraud, they quipped, “OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTING ROOMS.”

      See also…

“WE WON THE GRAMMYS, GOT LOADS OF LEGAL VOTES,” they added. “BAD THINGS HAPPENED WHICH OUR OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.”
“DOZENS OF BALLOTS WERE SENT TO PEOPLE WHO NEVER ASKED FOR THEM,” concluded The Killers, adding the hashtags “#RIGGEDGRAMMYS #WEWON.”
The “Mr. Brightside” stars weren’t the only ones left disappointed by the Grammy nominations – Canadian star The Weeknd has demanded answers after he failed to be nominated for a single prize, despite landing critical and commercial success with album “After Hours” and one of the biggest-selling songs of 2020, “Blinding Lights”.
After The Weeknd accused the Grammys’ organisers of being “corrupt,” officials responded by insisting they are “surprised” he wasn’t recognised. They also noted there are “fewer” nominations to award than there are “deserving artists.”

Michael Moore Rules Out Making Donald Trump Documentary: No One Wants to See It

    WENN

The Oscar-winning documentarian rules out making a documentary about the MAGA leader because he believes no one wants to relive the past four years of Trump’s presidency.

    Nov 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Oscar-winning documentarian Michael Moore won’t revisit Donald Trump’s presidency anytime soon.
The filmmaker appeared on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Thursday (12Nov20) night and celebrated the election results, as he discussed his letter to President-Elect Joe Biden.
“He’s a man of faith and that is going to serve us very well,” Moore explained, adding he’s feeling “really good” about Joe Biden being declared the president-elect over Trump.
He went on to share his belief that the country is “on guard” given “Trump is once again not dealing with reality” as the businessman refuses to accept defeat.

“I never take anything for granted when it comes to him,” Moore said, adding that it’s conspicuous everyone is “justifiably nervous about getting through these next 69 days.”
Moore may not be a stranger to taking on politics in his documentaries, but he’s adamant a Trump-centred film isn’t on his agenda, insisting, “I would not make that film in part because who would want to watch a film that showed you the last four years?”
“The worst thing I could do to people is show them the last four years,” he quipped, affirming that the beginning of a four year term for Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris has symbolised a “positive sign” for the nation.

“We are going to be in the polar opposite era than the four years that we just went through,” he smiled.

Village People Blast Donald Trump for Playing 'Y.M.C.A.' at Political Rallies

    Instagram

The band’s ringleader Victor Willis insists he and bandmates don’t support the Republican politician as they ask the POTUS to stop playing their music at his re-election campaign.

    Nov 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Village People leader Victor Willis has asked U.S. President Donald Trump to stop playing “Y.M.C.A.” and “Macho Man” at political rallies.
Trump’s use of the tracks was highlighted by social media users after videos of him dancing to the hits went viral online earlier this month (Oct20).
In an interview with BBC News, Willis said that the group have objected to Trump using their tracks – although he admits legally they cannot stop him due to licensing agreements.
“I don’t endorse Trump, I’ve never endorsed Trump, nor has the Village People,” he said. “Donald Trump does what Donald Trump does. I’ve never seen him actually put his hands up and make the Y.M.C.A. He’s changed it to M-A-G-A or something.”
The footage of Trump has become so widely ridiculed, it was highlighted by “Saturday Night Live” last week.

On “Saturday Night Live” last week (October 24), a Weekend Update segment focused on the subject of Trump – in a segment in which Keenan Thompson played Willis, singing a version of “Y.M.C.A.” that demanded he stops playing the song.
Other musicians who have objected to Trump’s use of their music include Elton John, Neil Young, and The Rolling Stones – with representatives of the estates of Tom Petty and Prince also raising objections.
Leonard Cohen, Linkin Park, Panic At the Disco, and R.E.M. also banned Trump and his team from using their songs.
R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe said, “Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign.”
PATD’s Brendon Urie issued a similar statement, “Donald Trump represents nothing we stand for…Dear Trump Campaign, F**k you. You’re not invited. Stop playing my song. No thanks, Brendon Urie, Panic! At The Disco & company.”

  • Donald Trump Abruptly Leaves 'Fake' and 'Biased' '60 Minutes' Interview

    Instagram

It is also reported that Trump threatens to release a tape from the interview with Lesley Stahl before its scheduled broadcast on Sunday, though a representative of the White House denies the claims.

    Oct 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – President Donald Trump is back with his antics. POTUS had a solo interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes” with host Lesley Stahl on Tuesday, October 20 when he abruptly ended the interview. He didn’t return despite being tapped to film a joint interview with Vice President Mike Pence.
According to reports, POTUS cut short the interview, which took place at the White House, only 45 minutes into the interview that will be scheduled to air on Sunday. He allegedly told the crew that he believed they had enough material to use for their program.
It was also said that Trump threatened to release a tape from the interview before its scheduled broadcast. Of the report, a representative of the White House claimed that “the White House had agreed they were taping the interview for archival purposes only.” Meanwhile, CBS News has yet to comment on the matter.
Trump himself took to his Twitter account on Tuesday to address the matter. “I am pleased to inform you that, for the sake of accuracy in reporting, I am considering posting my interview with Lesley Stahl of 60 Minutes, PRIOR TO AIRTIME! This will be done so that everybody can get a glimpse of what a FAKE and BIASED interview is all about…,” he tweeted.

He went on to say in a separate post, “….Everyone should compare this terrible Electoral Intrusion with the recent interviews of Sleepy Joe Biden!”

Donald Trump slammed CBS News’ ’60 Minutes’.
He also launched a personal attack on Stahl in a Twitter post. Sharing a video of her at the White House, Trump captioned it, “Lesley Stahl of 60 Minutes not wearing a mask in the White House after her interview with me. Much more to come.”

Trump attacked Lesley Stahl after the interview.
A source, however, defended Stahl, saying that she wore a mask while she was talking with Trump and Pence and that the clip that the president shared was taken right after the interview. She was speaking with members of her crew who tested negative for COVID-19.

  • John Fogerty Slaps Donald Trump Campaign With Cease and Desist for Use of 'Fortunate Son'

In a tweet, the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman also voices his objection that the President uses his words and his voice to portray a message that he does not endorse.

    Oct 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Veteran rocker John Fogerty has become the latest star to send Donald Trump’s campaign managers a cease and desist notice over their use of his songs at the President’s re-election rallies.
The former Creedence Clearwater Revival star is appalled his song “Fortunate Son” is being used at campaign events and he wants it to stop.
“I object to the President using my song ‘Fortunate Son’ in any way for his campaign,” Fogerty tweeted. “He is using my words and my voice to portray a message that I do not endorse. Therefore, I am issuing a cease and desist order.”
The singer added, “I wrote this song because, as a veteran, I was disgusted that some people were allowed to be excluded from serving our country because they had access to political and financial privilege. I also wrote about wealthy people not paying their fair share of taxes. Mr. Trump is a prime example of both of these issues.”
“The fact that Mr. Trump also fans the flames of hatred, racism and fear while rewriting recent history, is even more reason to be troubled by his use of my song.”

      See also…

John Fogerty announced that he is issuing a cease and desist order to Donald Trump’s campaign.
In the cease and desist letter, obtained by Rolling Stone, the rocker’s lawyers claim the use of “Fortunate Son” at the rallies and campaign events is “likely to cause confusion, mistake and deceive the public as to the affiliation, connection, sponsorship or association of President Trump by or with John Fogerty”.
“We therefore demand that you expeditiously abstain from playing ‘Fortunate Son’ or any other song written by or connected with John Fogerty at any political campaign rallies or events, and promptly notify us that the demand has been met. This matter is of great importance to our client, and we look forward to your prompt action.”
Fogerty’s action comes days after lawyers representing Phil Collins confirmed they had fired off a cease and desist letter to Trump’s campaign chiefs in an effort to stop them using his hit “In the Air Tonight” at political events.
The two rockers join the likes of Neil Young, Dexys Midnight Runners, Panic At the Disco, The Rolling Stones, Linkin Park, and the estate of Tom Petty among those who have urged the President and his team to stop using their music at re-election campaign rallies.

    WENN

The ‘Cool for the Summer’ hitmaker comes to her own defense as she is facing backlash from some of her fans following the release of her protest song ‘Commander In Chief’.
    Oct 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Demi Lovato is standing by her controversial new single, which attacks U.S. leader Donald Trump, insisting she values “integrity” over record sales.
The singer teamed up with Billie Eilish’s producer brother, Finneas, to record “Commander In Chief”, which she released without fanfare in America on Tuesday evening (13Oct20). She will perform the hard-hitting song she wrote with Finneas and Julia Michaels, among others, at the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday.
The track’s debut prompted an intense response on Instagram, with some fans slamming the star and suggesting her political stance could “ruin” her career.
One devotee even wrote, “I’m personally ashamed to be a Lovatic right now but no matter how hard it is I’m not letting this song change my feelings about you especially after everything you have helped me with. I really hope this doesn’t ruin your career Demetria.”

Lovato took to social media on Wednesday to respond to her critics, writing, “I literally don’t care if this ruins my career. This isn’t about that. My career isn’t about that.”
“I made a piece of art that stands for something I believe in. And I’m putting it out even at the risk of losing fans. I’ll take integrity in my work over sales any day.”
The lyrics include the lines, “We were taught when we were young / If we fight for what’s right there won’t be justice for just some / We won’t give up, stand our ground / We’ll be in the streets while you’re bunkering down / Loud and proud, best believe / We’ll still take knee, while you’re Commander in Chief.”

  • Faux Donald Trump Indulges in Women in YG's 'Jealous' Music Video

    [embedded content]

The rapper also slams POTUS over his infamous tax scandal through the music video, displaying the words, ‘I don’t pay taxes,’ while the faux Trump mouths the lyrics to his song.
    Oct 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – It’s a known fact that YG hates Donald Trump to the core. Reminding his fans how much he dislikes POTUS, the hip-hop star released a music video for “Jealous” on Thursday, October 8 that features a faux Trump performing un-presidential activities in the Oval Office.
It opens with the faux Trump playing the piano before the scene then changes to show him mouthing the lyrics of the song in front of Air Force One. “They jealous, they envious of me/ I’m rich as f**k, I’m poppin’ got it poppin’ off a beat,” he raps. “I’m f**kin’ on they b***hes they payin’ out here for free (Free)/ I’m stylin’ with no stylist, stay clean, I got OCD (Stylin’).”

Later scenes show faux Trump inviting scantily-clad women to the Oval Office as the ladies begin performing their sexy dance moves as one girl twerks in front of his face. He’s clearly liking the view as he sticks his tongue out when she is busy busting her body. YG also slams Trump by displaying the words, “I don’t pay taxes,” while the faux president continues rapping to his song. It’s a clear reference to reports that he only paid $750 in federal income taxes.
“Jealous” is one of the songs off his latest album, “My Life 4Hunnid”, which was released last week. Speaking of the album in an interview with Zane Lowe, YG explained that the effort was highly influenced by Tupac Shakur. “This is as far as the space I’m in and what I’m dealing with in life. He went through a lot of the stuff that I’m dealing with right now, and he was making records about it, and just the tone and the cadence of how he was coming up. I was playing with a lot of that type of sway of Tupac,” he said at the time.
