    Jul 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kanye West paid tribute to his late mother Donda on Sunday, July 12 with a new track, vowing to “end racism once and for all”.
The rapper took to Twitter to debut the tune, titled “DONDA”, which is dedicated to his mum, who passed away in 2007 of complications from cosmetic surgery at the age of 58. The song is presumed to appear on Kanye’s forthcoming album, “God’s Country”.
“In loving memory of my incredible mother on her birthday,” tweeted the 43-year-old rapper, who uploaded a coinciding music video featuring footage from his childhood.

Kanye West paid tribute to his late mother through ‘DONDA’.
In the opening of the track, Kanye’s mother can be heard reciting the lyrics to rapper KRS-One’s hit “Sound Of Da Police”, as a gospel-style track plays in the background.
As she continues to read, several clips play, including footage of a printing press with superimposed video of a concerned looking African-American woman, clips of a young African-American boy peddling up a hill on his bicycle, and footage of an African-American mum walking with her children.
The video also shows numerous black people living their lives in a country abroad, before the clip switches to film of Kanye roaming a beach.
In the lyrics of the song, Kanye vows to “start a revolution”, with the star, who recently announced he’s to run for President of the U.S. this year, adding: “Y’all had your fake leaders, don’t worry we got it / it only takes 21 days to break a habit.”

He also addresses his mum directly, rapping: “Momma I need you to tuck me in / I done made some mistakes and they rubbed them in / I know you and Grandma had enough of them / Why I gotta be so stubborn, then?”.
The song concludes abruptly with the husband of Kim Kardashian explaining how he hopes “to end racism once and for all”.

  • Kanye West Shares Freestyles Based on His Run for President – Listen!

    WENN/Instar

In one of the songs, which is titled ‘This Is What Covid’s Made’, the rapper calls out Donald Trump by rapping, ‘How about we stop hiding in the bunkers and be a real man?’
    Jul 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – It looks like Kanye West is more than ready to run for president, to the point that he’s created three presidential campaign freestyles. The rapper shared the songs with Forbes during his infamous interview, and now the publication has released it to the public for your listening pleasure.
In the first song, which is titled “This Is What Covid’s Made”, Kanye obviously put the focus on the pandemic and called out President Donald Trump at one point by rapping, “How about we stop hiding in the bunkers and be a real man?”
The second song, which is named “Thou Shalt No Kill”, was partially inspired by the infamous O.J. Simpson case and found him spitting bars about his opposition to the death penalty. He also spitted out the lyrics of his Travis Scott (II) collaboration, “Wash Us in the Blood”. He rapped, “Wash us in the blood/ Rain down on us/ Wash us in the blood of Jesus.”

Meanwhile, in the final song “This Is Earth”, Kanye conceptualized the negative connotation with the word “dirt” and rapped about how his religious transformation helped him find solace. At the end of the audio, the interviewer said that this last song could be his campaign song, to which he said that he actually has more in store.

Kanye announced his presidential bid on Fourth of July, writing on Twitter, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States!”
Not a few are against the idea, though there are also some who support his decision. Elon Musk used to be among those who supported Kanye, though it appears he is now re-considering his decision. After a follower let him know about Kanye’s views on abortion, the Tesla founder said, “We may have more differences of opinion than I anticipated.”

  • Kanye West Addresses Police Brutality in 'Wash Us in the Blood' Music Video

In the music video for his collaboration with Travis Scott, Breonna Taylor, who is one of the victims of police brutality, is seen showing off her dance moves.
    Jul 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kanye West is taking the opportunity to address police brutality through his new music video. On Tuesday, June 30, the rapper and fashion mogul released a new song called “Wash Us in the Blood”, which is a collaboration with Travis Scott (II), along with its accompanying music video.
It opens with footage of a white officer having a confrontation with a black protester before the scene changes to show people wearing masks and struggling to breathe. At one point in the Arthur Jafa-directed visuals, Breonna Taylor, who is one of the victims of police brutality, is shown dancing. The video concludes with a clip of Ye’s daughter North West playing around during a Sunday Service rehearsal.
The song itself finds Ye and Travis rapping about searching for salvation for the sins in their community. “Take some, rain, nonstop, rain don’t want war/ Rain come, rain come/ Come shine, come rain, come up,” Ye raps. “Rain down on a pain/ Rain down on the slain/ Rain down on my mom.”
“Wash Us in the Blood” marks the first single off Ye’s upcoming album, “God’s Country”, which will be a follow-up to his gospel albums “Jesus Is King” and “Jesus Is Born”. In an interview with GQ magazine, the “Famous” rapper said of his new record, “I was thinking of not rapping again, because I rapped for the devil so long that I didn’t even know how to rap for God. Then one of my pastors told me, ‘My son just said that he would want a rap album about Jesus from Kanye West.’ ”
He continued, “He didn’t say, ‘Kanye West, you should do this,’ or ‘you need to do this.’ He just told me something that a child said. And that one thing made the difference.”
It’s still unclear when Ye is going to release “God’s Country”.

Kanye West Calls 'Leaving Neverland' Attempts to Ruin Michael Jackson's Legacy

    WENN

The ‘Jesus Is King’ rapper compares the unfavorable media portrayal of the late King of Pop to the constant criticisms he himself received from the public.
    Jun 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kanye West has criticised attempts to “tear down” Michael Jackson by airing the child abuse allegations detailed in the “Leaving Neverland” documentary.
Jackson’s status as arguably the most celebrated pop musician of all time has taken a battering since the airing of the film, which featured lengthy interviews with two men, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who accused him of abusing them as children, on HBO last year 2019.
In a chat with Pharrell Williams published on the i-D magazine website, West spoke about the “Thriller” hitmaker’s status as an icon – and said media outlets and documentarians should not be allowed to attack Jackson, who died aged 50 in 2009.
“He kissed Elvis Presley’s daughter on MTV,” West said of what made the King of Pop unique as a black musician. “Black culture used to be… we used to be fronting all night, but Michael was doing stuff that was different to what we were programmed to understand as being what we should do. He bought The Beatles’ back catalogue. That was Mike Jackson, right there.”
Attacking the late popstar’s critics, he continued, “We should have something that says we can’t allow any company to tear down our heroes. Not on (the gossip website) The Shade Room, not on social media and especially not in documentaries.”
The “Jesus Walks” hitmaker went on to compare Jackson’s media portrayal as a bizarre eccentric to his own treatment.
“I’m like every time the media isn’t happy with me it’s like, ‘Here they go. They’re gonna come and Wacko Jacko me.’ Which in some ways, they’ve tried to do,” the rapper mused.
Allegations of child sexual abuse against Jackson first surfaced when teenager Jordy Chandler accused him of molestation in 1993, with the singer settling a lawsuit for $23 million. He was also acquitted of abusing another boy, Gavin Arvizo, at trial in 2005 and denied all allegations until his death.
Robson and Safechuck, who befriended King of Pop as children, denied they had been abused during his lifetime but subsequently filed lawsuits alleging abuse and detailed their claims in “Leaving Neverland”.

Kanye West's 'Famous' Producer Advises Taylor Swift to 'Chill Out' Over Namecheck

    WENN

Havoc of Mobb Deep weighs in on the feud between the ‘Stronger’ rapper and the ‘Me!’ hitmaker weeks after a new audio from a phone chat between the two of them leaked on YouTube.
    Apr 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mobb Deep star Havoc has urged Taylor Swift to “chill out” over her namecheck in Kanye West’s “Famous” track, insisting artists should be able to take a little fun.
The hitmaker helped produce the track, which forever drove a wedge between Kanye and Taylor over the line “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why?/I made that b***h famous,” but Havoc believes all the drama was unnecessary.
“I think artists are artists, and she should really chill out,” he tells The Daily Beast. “It’s not that serious.”
“She has an awesome career, and she don’t need to be fighting with another awesome artist (sic). Freedom of speech is alive and well – or should be – and she shouldn’t be going out there complaining about not clearing this.”
Havoc adds, “Some people are a little too sensitive for the game but this is the game that we’re in. There’s no time for soft skin – and I’m not just saying that because she’s a female. Everyone has to display tough skin for this industry since everyone is gonna come at you, and you might like it or you might not.”
His comments come weeks after new audio from a phone chat between West and Swift leaked on YouTube, suggesting West told Swift he wanted to use the “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex” lyric, but didn’t mention the “I made that b***h famous” line.
“I’m glad it’s not mean though,” Swift can be heard responding to West. “It doesn’t feel mean, but like, oh my god, the build-up you gave it. I thought it was gonna be like, ‘that stupid dumb b***h, like’, but it’s not.”

Kanye West Credits His Pastor's Son for Saving His Career

    GQ Magazine/Tyler Mitchell

The ‘Follow God’ rhymer reveals the reason why he returned to music as a born-again Christian after originally planning to to give up music because he thought it’s evil.
    Apr 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kanye West fans have his pastor’s son to thank for saving the rapper’s career.
The “Jesus Walks” hitmaker has revealed he seriously considered turning his back on music following his conversion to Christianity after a bout of alcoholism, but a child gave him faith that his rapping could be inspiring.
“I was thinking of not rapping again, because I rapped for the devil so long that I didn’t even know how to rap for God,” he tells GQ magazine. “Then one of my pastors told me, ‘My son just said that he would want a rap album about Jesus from Kanye West.’ ”
“He didn’t say, ‘Kanye West, you should do this,’ or ‘You need to do this.’ He just told me something that a child said. And that one thing made the difference.”

Kanye bounced back with the album “Jesus Is King” last year 2019, which helped him conquer the Christian charts.
In the interview, the rapper also addresses his issues with alcohol, revealing he often started his day with a vodka.
“One day I was in my office working on the couture collection, and there was some Grey Goose in the fridge and I was just going to get a daytime drink, and I looked and thought, ‘Devil, you’re not going to beat me today,’ ” he explains. “That one statement is like a tattoo.”
“I haven’t had a drink since I realised I needed to take it day by day, but I never owned up, or was even told, ‘Hey, you’re a functioning alcoholic.’ People have called me a crazy person, people have called me everything – but not a functioning alcoholic. And I would be drinking orange juice and Grey Goose in the morning.”
