Kelly Clarkson Pens 60 Songs as She Deals With Heartache After Brandon Blackstock Split

    WENN

The ‘Kelly Clarkson Show’ host reveals she has written ‘an insane amount’ of songs while she’s struggling with grief after calling it quits with her husband.

    Feb 27, 2021
AceShowbiz – Kelly Clarkson has turned to music to ease her marriage-split heartache, revealing she has written 60 songs since filing for divorce last summer (20).
The singer split from her manager husband Brandon Blackstock in June (20) and quickly filed papers to end their seven-year marriage – and it appears the break-up has served as inspiration for Kelly’s creativity.
“I have this record that we’re working on and it’s really great and really honest,” she tells Entertainment Tonight. “There’s just a lot of questions that I have to answer before releasing it for myself, whether that be business-wise or personally, or whatever. Whatever happens though, it is such a gift.”

“I don’t know how anybody… goes through grief like divorce, any kind of grief, any kind of loss, without having an outlet like this. I have written, like, 60 songs, it is an insane amount of getting it out. I think that’s a blessing in itself. Anytime you go through some life, it’s such an awesome thing to have that outlet, regardless of whether people hear it or not.”
And it’s not just her own music that is inspiring Clarkson – her pal and fellow “The Voice” coach John Legend’s 2020 album, “Bigger Love”, has been a great source of hope.
“It’s all about that kind of love that you find, that kind of connection you find, and it was so helpful for me,” she adds. “Just separately – as a fan, not friend – just to be in a place where you’re hopeless and then to have a record like that, that’s what I’m saying.”

Kelly Clarkson Limping With Injured Knee as She Opens Her Show After Taking a Tumble in High Heels

    Instagram

The ‘American Idol’ champion has injured one of her knees after stumbling backstage in her high heels just before taping her talk show ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’.

    Dec 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Pop star Kelly Clarkson will be limping her way through the holidays after injuring her knee while running in high heels.
The “Stronger” hitmaker was behind schedule to start taping Friday’s (11Dec20) episode of her U.S. daytime series, “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, when she stumbled awkwardly backstage.
The singer decided the show must go on and hobbled her way to the stage to open the programme, but had to take a seat in an armchair as she welcomed viewers to her first festive episode.

Explaining the need for comfy furniture, she said, “Well, this is our first holiday show… and I was real excited about it and we were running late, and I don’t like to be late, so I was running in my heel, which was a bad decision because apparently I turned a corner and possibly did something to my ACL (anterior cruciate ligament).”
“So, 2020 – just the gift that keeps on giving…!” quipped Kelly, who is also going through a nasty divorce from estranged husband Brandon Blackstock. “I’m just gonna sit in this chair… with my leg elevated.”
“I’ve now had the (eye) patch, because I had an eye situation, now I have a knee situation…,” she continued, referring to the eye covering she had to wear in September after suffering an infection.
Kelly went on to admit she’s always been a clumsy person, so much so she was given an award for “Crisis of the Day” when she was a schoolkid.
“I don’t know why it happens, but stuff happens,” she shared, before admitting she should have known better this time around to avoid “looking like a fool on television.” “Well, I was running in heels and turned a corner, like I’m some kind of athletic person that can do that, and it didn’t go well!”

  • Kelly Clarkson to Get Personal on 'Therapeutic' New Album Following Split From Husband

    Instagram

The singer-turned-talk show host describes her upcoming studio album as ‘therapeutic’ following her separation from Brandon Blackstock after seven years of marriage.
    Sep 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kelly Clarkson plans to get “personal” on her new album.
The hitmaker, who recently split from husband Brandon Blackstock, reveals, in a preview of this week’s episode of “Sunday Today With Willie Geist”, it’s been “therapeutic” to revisit past situations while creating the album.
“This next record, this will probably be the most personal one I’ve ever released,” Clarkson shares. “The whole record is basically every emotion you experience from the beginning of a relationship, to the end of what it is now.”
“It’s been very therapeutic for me,” she adds. “It’s very honest.”
The “Catch My Breath” hitmaker filed for divorce from Blackstock in June (20), after nearly seven years of marriage. The pair share two children together – six-year-old daughter River and four-year-old son Remington.
Despite a number of the tracks being about their parents’ failed relationship, Clarkson adds that one song off her upcoming album has her kids’ stamp of approval.
“There’s one that my kids sing in the car. ‘Cause I’m going through mixes, and I’m just, like, ‘This is weird,'” she expresses. “Like, it’s your relationship. I’ve never written about my life to where my kids are, like, singing along.”
Although River and Remy like the song, they don’t know what it’s about, as Clarkson explains, “They’re four and six, and so, that’s a little different, but whatever. It is what it is.”
A release date for the new album has yet to be confirmed.

Watch: Kelly Clarkson Gives Soulful Touch to Madonna's 'Like a Prayer' for 'Kellyoke'

    Instagram

In the latest episode of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’, the ‘American Idol’ alum delivers a stirring rendition of the 1989 smash-hit with the help of her bandmates from their individual homes.
    May 1, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kelly Clarkson has made a Madonna classic her own. On Thursday, April 30, the “My Life Would Suck Without You” hitmaker entertained fans and viewers of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” with a soulful rendition of the “Material Girl” singer’s 1989 smash-hit “Like a Prayer” during her “Kellyoke” segment.
Performing the number from her self-isolation location in Montana, the Season 1 winner of “American Idol” replaced backup singers with multiple recordings of herself, and was joined virtually by a crew of her bandmates who did their parts from the safety of their own homes. She also got the assistance from music director Jason Halbert for the web cover.
Hours after sharing the cover via her show’s social media account, the current judge on “The Voice” admitted to be missing her music crew. “Oh my gosh I love my band so much,” she tweeted late Thursday night. “Hahahahahaha! I had no idea they were doing this and I am so happy right now! The pointing, the drama, the black and white sexy @iamjessicollins and @jasonhalbert on keytar. I miss my musical family.”

Clarkson tweeted about missing music family.
Clarkson has been covering other artists’ famous tracks on her “Kellyoke” segment way before the coronavirus pandemic shut down the studio production of “The Kelly Clarkson Show”. She had delivered Mariah Carey’s “Vanishing” from the bathroom of her family cabin in March, and paid tribute to Kenny Rogers by performing “Sweet Music Man” a week later.
About how “Kellyoke” came to be, Clarkson’s longtime music director Halbert spilled in a 2018 interview with Vulture, “I think because of how she started on ‘Idol,’ covering so many great songs on the show, when I first started with her, I used to get tons of emails from fans requesting that she cover certain songs.”
“So I brought her the idea of, ‘Why don’t we do a fan request every day?’ She loved the idea, and I think we’ve been doing it since almost the very beginning,” he continued. “Whenever they were coming up with a concept for the show, that sort of morphed into ‘Kellyoke’.”

Kelly Clarkson Almost Had 'Brain Aneurysm' as She's Given 4 Days to Record Song in Six Languages

The former ‘American Idol’ champion is struggling to record her new single called ‘I Dare You’ in six different languages including French, Hebrew, and Arabic.
    Apr 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kelly Clarkson thought she was “going to have a brain aneurysm” as she recorded six languages for her new single “I Dare You” in just four days.
The 37-year-old singer dropped the new tune on Thursday night, April 17, 2020, and appeared on “The Tonight Show: Home Edition with Jimmy Fallon” to talk about the process of laying down the track.
While Kelly “literally begged” her record label to give her ample time to hit the studio for the tune, it ended up that she only had four days to record all the versions.
    [embedded content]
“It’s not their fault, it’s just how it happened, but I was like, ‘Please don’t send me all these languages at once, to record at once.’ And I recorded all of them in four days,” she sighed. “I thought I was going to have a brain aneurysm one night. Because my brain – I mean, I’ve never even spoken Hebrew or Arabic, you know?”
    [embedded content]
Kelly is joined by French singer Zaz for the French version of “I Dare You”, Moroccan performer Faouzia for the Arabic version, Blas Canto for the Spanish version, Israeli star Maya Bouskilla for the Hebrew version, and electropop duo Glasperlenspiel for the German one.
    [embedded content]
While she struggled with the Hebrew and Arabic versions, Kelly felt more comfortable singing in European languages, as she “grew up singing opera” and therefore learned to perform in different languages as a child.
    [embedded content]
Now Kelly is hoping that dropping the new tune amid the coronavirus pandemic will help remind the world that we are united as one.
    [embedded content]
“I feel like (we) were in a world – even before pandemic times, I mean this song ironically is very fitting right now, but before pandemic times – it’s no secret like, as a nation, we’re super divided,” she explained.
    [embedded content]
“As a world we’re getting even more divided. So I thought this song would be cool to do in that sense and then all this happened and we were like, ‘Well, I guess we’ll just keep the release date,’ since we’re super connected now globally.”

Coronavirus Forces Kelly Clarkson to Postpone Las Vegas Residency

    Instagram

Not only her upcoming residency ‘Invincible’, but the ‘Because of You’ hitmaker has also made the decision to temporarily halt production of her self-titled talk show.
    Mar 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kelly Clarkson is the latest star to be affected by the coronavirus pandemic, which has shut down production on her hit TV talk show and Las Vegas residency.
The outbreak of Covid-19 has seen more than 145,000 cases of the illness registered, resulting in more than 5,400 deaths since it began in December (19).
While the health scare has wreaked havoc across the entertainment industry, with numerous TV shows wither cancelled or going ahead without an audience, Kelly announced on Friday, March 13 she’s playing it safe when it comes to her “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.
“As you may know, production on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ was temporarily shut down late last night,” the 37-year-old said. “And out of concern and care for everyone’s safety, we have chosen to postpone the April 1st opening of my Las Vegas residency, ‘Invincible’, until July.”
She added that “details regarding ticket replacement are forthcoming and I can’t wait to see you this summer. For now, please keep your loved ones close, safe and healthy.”
The cancellation of the “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” star’s residency in Sin City comes after the Jonas Brothers, Lionel Richie, and Diana Ross have pulled out of their shows due to the pandemic.
A similar decision is expected to be made about British pop star Robbie Williams’ “Live in Las Vegas” residency, housed at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas alongside Lionel and Diana’s shows, which is currently billed to resume on 24 March.
Robbie’s recent show in Australia was also cancelled due to the outbreak, with high-profile stars including Cher, Madonna, Mariah Carey, and Billie Eilish also scrapping gigs as a precaution. Similarly, major festivals including Coachella and Stagecoach have been postponed until later this year.
