Ticketless Oasis fans have been warned not to turn up to Heaton Park amid increased intervention to keep the public and local environment and livestock safe after what happened at previous concertsZesha Saleem11:24, 19 Jul 2025Fans without tickets are urged to stay awayTicketless fans hoping to get a glimpse of Oasis at Heaton Park this weekend are being warned not to turn up “public safety” reasons.In a statement, Manchester City Council said “additional measures” will be in place for the next three concerts to protect the parklands, local livestock and to maintain public safety.It comes after some ticketless fans were seen ignoring police warnings and attempting to gain entry to the concert. Others remained on Gallagher Hill despite the obstructed view.Fans climbed trees to get a better view of the Britpop band, while others came prepared with foldout chairs and picnic blankets, reported the Mirror. A steel fencing has been set up around a large part of the hill within the cattle field in the main park alongside measures to protect expectant and nursing cows and a bull, the council said.A sign advertising ‘Win Oasis Tickets,’ at Manchester’s Heaton Park Manchester City Council said in the statement: “There are no facilities for ticketless fans at the park and they will not be able to see the concerts or get into the event arena – which is double-walled with solid high security fencing all the way round and in excess of 2000 event security staff and police officers on duty around the site to ensure both the safety and wellbeing of ticketholders and that only those who have tickets can access the concert.”Councillor John Hacking, Executive Member for Employment, Skills and Leisure, Manchester City Council, said: “The atmosphere across Manchester has been electric over this last week with the whole city swept up in Oasis fever and peaking over the weekend with the first two hugely successful homecoming concerts at Heaton Park.”As you would expect given the size of the concerts and numbers of people attending, we go through a continuous process with partners of re-assessing the plans in place for the concerts to ensure both public safety and that any environmental impact on our award-winning park is minimalised.The brothers are performing at Heaton Park(Image: More
