Katy Perry Sets Twitter on Frenzy After Hinting at Possible Taylor Swift Collab

    WENN/Instar/Avalon

Katy’s hypothetical question quickly sparks chatter on Twitter with fans of both singers wishing the collaboration will really happen as one fan writes, ‘OMFG GOD MAKE THIS HAPPEN.’

    Mar 23, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Katy Perry excited fans when she randomly mentioned about a possible collaboration with fellow singer Taylor Swift. Katy made the comments in the Monday, March 22 episode of “American Idol” where she serves as one of the judges.

Following a great duet performance by contestants Althea Grace and Camille Lamb who sang Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me”, Katy gushed over them. “That’s what queens do,” she said, before announcing that both of them were sent to the next round.

The performance apparently was so stunning that it prompted the “Fireworks” hitmaker to think what could it be if she collaborates with the “Cardigan” songstress. “Can you imagine if Taylor and I work together, what we could do?” Katy asked her fellow judges, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

The hypothetical question quickly sparked chatter on Twitter with fans of both Katy and Taylor wishing the collaboration would really happen. “please grant our wishes, @taylorswift13 @katyperry,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “why is good morning america and american idol teasing the kaylor (katy x taylor) collab so much im scared,” another person added.

Katy and Taylor used to be beefing for years before the singers eventually buried the hatched in 2018, when Katy sent a beautiful note and olive branch to Taylor on opening night of Taylor’s Reputation Stadium Tour. The duo also appeared together in Taylor’s “You Need to Calm Down” music video.

“When we saw each other, it was just very clear to both of us that everything was different, that we had grown up, and that we had grown past allowing ourselves to be pitted against each other, and it just was very, very clear that we remembered how much we had in common,” Taylor previously shared. “So, both of us have been in a really good place for a while, but I don’t think either of us really knew if we were ever going to talk about it publicly.”

Grammys 2021: Taylor Swift Delivers Enchanting Performance, DaBaby and Dua Lipa Are 'Levitating'

The ‘Cardigan’ songstress delivers a medley of her album ‘Folklore’, while the ‘Suge’ rapper joins Lipa to belt out her ‘Future Nostalgia’ track after singing his own hit ‘Rockstar’.

    Mar 15, 2021
AceShowbiz – Some of today’s hottest music stars were in the house to support the biggest night in the industry. Performing under strict COVID-19 protocols, the likes of Taylor Swift, DaBaby, Dua Lipa and Harry Styles made sure the 63rd annual Grammy Awards was not less lively than the previous years with their performances.
Bringing her “Folklore” to the Grammy stage, Swift looked enchanting in a metallic dress as she lie down on a grassy ground. She kicked off her performance by singing “Cardigan” on a dreamy set, which matched the theme of the music video with a forest.
The pop star then moved into a cabin where she belted out “August” while strumming her guitar. She was joined by Jake Antonoff and Aaron Dessner and they ended the medley with “Willow”, the first track off her latest album “Evermore”.

DaBaby, meanwhile, glammed up for his performance of “Rockstar”, wearing an all-white number while accessorizing with bedazzled gloves and some diamond chains. He was joined by his collaborator Roddy Ricch.
DaBaby later teamed up with Dua Lipa for a performance of “Levitating”. Seemingly recording their parts separately, the duo sang with different, but similar scenic backgrounds. Lipa started singing the song solo, before the rapper took over the stage where he was surrounded by a number of pink-clad dancers.

Kicking off the Grammys that night was Harry Styles, who looked every inch a rock star in black leather pants and matching jacket, which was unbuttoned, without a shirt underneath. He sang his hit “Watermelon Sugar”, which also earned him his first Grammy for Pop Solo Performance.

Taylor Swift Rips Netflix for 'Deeply Sexist Joke' in 'Ginny and Georgia'

    WENN/Netflix/Instar

The Sarah Lampert-created drama series upsets the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker and her fans after its season one finale features 15-year-old Ginny taking a jab at the pop star’s love life.

    Mar 2, 2021
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift has laid into Netflix bosses and writers behind TV show “Ginny & Georgia” for including a “deeply sexist” joke about her love life in the season one finale.
The pop superstar’s fans initially took issue with the throwaway line on Sunday night, February 28, after viewing episode 10 of the comedy-drama, which focuses on the life of a mixed race teenager and her young mother in a fictional New England town.
The instalment in question was written by creator Sarah Lampert and Debra J. Fisher, and featured the mother and daughter arguing about relationships, as 15-year-old Ginny quipped, “What do you care? You go through men faster than Taylor Swift.”
The backlash was swift as the singer’s devotees took to social media and turned “#RespectTaylor” into a trending topic, and the “Shake It Off” hitmaker herself has now weighed in on the controversy, making it clear she wasn’t laughing.

“Hey Ginny & Georgia, 2010 called and it wants its lazy, deeply sexist joke back,” Taylor tweeted on Monday. “How about we stop degrading hard working women by defining this horse s**t as fuNny (sic).”
She then turned on Netflix officials, with whom she had worked for her hit 2020 documentary “Miss Americana”.
“Also, (Netflix) after Miss Americana this outfit doesn’t look cute on you,” she added, alongside an emoji of a broken heart. “Happy Women’s History Month I guess.”

Taylor Swift called out ‘Ginny and Georgia’ for taking a jab at her love life.
Representatives for Netflix or the “Ginny & Georgia” writers have yet to comment on the uproar.
