Taylor Swift Officially Calls Off Lover Fest After Delay Due to Pandemic

    Disney+

The ‘Willow’ singer has decided to scrap her festival-style show which was originally scheduled for 2020 but put on hold amid the never-ending Covid-19 pandemic.

    Feb 28, 2021
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift has officially cancelled her Lover Fest shows.
The pop star announced the 2020 summer festival-style gigs shortly after the release of her “Lover” album in 2019 and stalled them when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down venues last year.
She was hoping to reschedule the concerts but, on Friday (26Feb21), the singer decided she could no longer commit to the shows.

“I love coming on here to tell you good news, or to share a new project with you,” she wrote on her social media accounts. “It’s not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell you news I’m sad about.”
“I’m so sorry, but I cannot reschedule the shows that we’ve postponed. Although refunds have been available since we first postponed the Lover Fest shows, many of you hung onto your tickets and I too hung onto the idea that we could reschedule.”
“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future. I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to see you in person as soon as I wanted to. I miss you terribly and can’t wait til we can all safely be at shows together again.”
Fans might not be able to see Swift live any time soon, but she has kept them busy with new and reworked music – she released two albums, “Folklore” and “Evermore”, in 2020 and is currently reworking the tracks on her 2008 record, “Fearless”, which will be re-released in April (21).

Taylor Swift's 'Fearless' Re-Recordings to Only Be Eligible for Performance Awards at the Grammys

    Instagram

The re-recorded tracks in the ‘Love Story’ hitmaker’s reworked edition of her 2008 LP would not be allowed to be nominated for songwriting accolades, but her six brand new songs could be.

    Feb 16, 2021
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift’s re-recordings of her tracks from “Fearless” will be eligible for performance Grammy Awards.
The “Love Story” star – who had previously revealed plans to release new versions of her early records after Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings bought the writes to her back catalogue – is set to release a reworked edition of her 2008 LP, which comes with six brand new songs.
And the Recording Academy has stated that the re-recorded tracks will only be allowed to be nominated for performance accolades, not songwriting awards.
A Grammy Awards spokesperson told Billboard, “Current eligibility guidelines would allow for the new performances and albums to be eligible if they were recorded within the last five years. However, none of the older songs would be eligible for songwriting awards.”

However, that doesn’t apply to the six new tracks, which can be nominated for songwriting prizes as well.
The album is available for pre-order, and a hidden message in an accompanying note suggested it could drop in April 2021.

In a lengthy statement, she added, “Artists should own their own work for so many reasons, but the most screamingly obvious one is that the artist is the only one who really *knows* that body of work.”
“For example, only I know which songs I wrote that almost made the Fearless album. Songs I absolutely adored, but were held back for different reasons (don’t want too many breakup songs, don’t want too many down tempo songs, can’t fit that many songs on a physical CD).”

Taylor Swift's Re-Recorded 'Love Story' Eclipses Sales of Its Original Version

    Instagram

Released just after midnight on February 12, the newer version of the 2008 track off ‘Fearless’ has garnered an impressive 10,000 downloads in just 24 hours.

    Feb 15, 2021
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift’s newly re-recorded version of “Love Story” is outperforming the original.
The reworked track was released just after midnight on Friday, February 12, and quickly eclipsed the original song’s sales with an impressive 10,000 downloads in 24 hours.
Taylor re-recorded the song as part of her session to rejig her entire 2008 album “Fearless” in an effort to deprive the current owners of her masters of any profit after her music business nemesis, Scooter Braun, sold them in November 2020.
What makes the downloads really impressive is Taylor only announced she was releasing the new version of “Love Story” on Thursday, February 11.

The original “Love Story”, which became a global hit for Swift, only sold 200 downloads on 12 February 2021. It has sold a total of 6.13 million downloads since it was first released 12 years ago.
Taylor also plans to release a handful of outtakes and rarities on her “Fearless” re-release planned for April 2021 – the first of six albums she plans to revisit.
Braun bought her masters from Taylor’s old record label in 2019 and sold them on in November.
The defiant singer has always made it clear she would re-record and re-release all her old albums once she was legally entitled to do so. “I have now finished re-recording all of Fearless which will be coming out soon,” Taylor said on “Good Morning America” on February 12.
“My version of ‘Fearless’ will have 26 songs on it,” she explained, “because I’ve decided to add songs from the vault, which are songs that almost made the ‘Fearless’ album, but I’ve now gone back and recorded those so that everyone will be able to hear not only songs that made the album but the songs that almost made it. The full picture.”

Taylor Swift Feels 'Great Amount of Gratitude' as She Looks Back at Her Musical Evolution

    Apple Music

The ‘Willow’ singer is filled with gratitude for ‘people giving [her] the ability to grow up creatively’ as she reflects on her musical growth over the years.

    Feb 13, 2021
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift is “really proud” of how her music has developed over the years.
The “Evermore” star reflected on her songs to date since she first released “Fearless”, admitting it was really special to be recording her new album at the same time she was working on re-recording her 2008 record.
“I was allowed to start rerecording my music in November. By then we had a great deal of Evermore done. I had shot a music video for Willow, but I was still writing and I was still recording,” she explained during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music.

“So there would be days where I’d be recording You Belong With Me and then I’d be recording a song like Happiness, which is on Evermore. And it made me feel really proud of sort of the scope of things.”
And the 31-year-old singer – who is dating Joe Alwyn – feels a “great amount of gratitude” that she can re-record her teenage music again.
“And looking back when I was a teenager and I would write about my troubles in high school and the drama and the pining away and all that stuff, that was all so valid to me at that time in my life,” she mused. “Just as much as Evermore is so valid to my happiness at this time in my life. So I’ve really felt very grateful lately for people giving me the ability to grow up creatively. And I know there have been snags and there’ve been times where people have been like, ‘I don’t like her.’ ”
“Several times, but for the most part, I feel a great amount of gratitude that I was able to make music from the time I was a teenager to the time that I’m 31.”

Taylor Swift Remaking 'Fearless' and '1989' After Failing to Acquire Master Recordings

    Instagram

The ‘Evermore’ singer is gearing up for the release of ‘Fearless: Taylor’s Version’ and planning to follow it up later with an upgraded version of her fifth album ‘1989’.

    Feb 12, 2021
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” will be the first album to be re-recorded by the artist after six of her original master recordings were sold along with her former record label Big Machine Group.
The singer announced, on “Good Morning America (GMA)” on Thursday (11Feb21), her sophomore album from 2008 – renamed “Fearless: Taylor’s Version”, will be the first in a series of full-album remakes she vowed to do over after failing to acquire her master recordings, which were initially bought by Scooter Braun, sparking a bitter row between the music icon and the mogul. It will include six never-before-heard tracks.
A single, “Love Story”, will be released on Thursday at midnight, mirroring the lead single from the ’08 version of the album.
“I have now finished re-recording all of Fearless which will be coming out soon,” Taylor said on “GMA”. “My version of Fearless will have 26 songs on it, because I’ve decided to add songs from the vault, which are songs that almost made the ‘Fearless album, but I’ve now gone back and recorded those so that everyone will be able to hear not only songs that made the album but the songs that almost made it. The full picture.”
As well as appearing on GMA, the singer also updated fans about the new release on her social media.

“I’ve spoken a lot about why I’m remaking my first six albums, but the way I’ve chosen to do this will hopefully illuminate where I’m coming from,” Taylor wrote in her social media message. “Artists should own their own work for so many reasons, but the most screamingly obvious one is that the artist is the only one who really knows that body of work. For example, only I know which songs I wrote that almost made the ‘Fearless’ album. Songs I absolutely adored, but were held back for different reasons (don’t want too many breakup songs, don’t want too many down tempo songs, can’t fit that many songs on a physical CD).”
She continued, “Those reasons seem unnecessary now. I’ve decided I want you to have the whole story, see the entire vivid picture, and let you into the entire dreamscape that is my ‘Fearless’ album. That’s why I’ve chosen to include 6 never before released songs on my version of this album, written when I was between the ages of 16 and 18. These were the ones it killed me to leave behind.”

Although Taylor didn’t share a release date for the project, fans quickly picked up on the fact that capitalised letters in her social media message spell out an APRIL NINTH release date for the full album.
“Fearless”, which marked the beginning of her crossover from country to pop, won the “Bad Blood” star her first Grammy Award for album of the year, a feat she later repeated with “1989” – which, she will also remake.
The album is also the only album in her catalogue to be certified diamond by The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of more than 10 million units in the U.S.

Taylor Swift Puts End to Karlie Kloss Feud Speculation With Revelation About New 'Evermore' Songs

    WENN/Instar/Avalon

A number of fans have been wondering if the ‘Cardigan’ singer is throwing shade at her supermodel friend in ‘Right Where You Left Me’ and ‘It’s Time to Go’, the two bonus tracks off her deluxe album.

    Jan 9, 2021
AceShowbiz – Taylor Swift has made sure her fans know that her new “Evermore” songs have nothing to do with Karlie Kloss. Having been speculated to throw shade at her supermodel friend in “Right Where You Left Me” and “It’s Time to Go”, the “Cardigan” singer was quick to shut down the rumors by revealing the meaning behind the tracks.
The 31-year-old set the record straight via Instagram on Friday, January 8. “the evermore deluxe album with 2 bonus tracks ‘right where you left me’ and ‘it’s time to go’ is now available! The first is a song about a girl who stayed forever in the exact spot where her heart was broken, completely frozen in time,” she clarified. ” ‘it’s time to go’ is about listening to your gut when it tells you to leave. How you always know before you know, you know?”

Taylor dropped “Right Where You Left Me” and “It’s Time to Go” on Thursday, January 7. Since then, her fans on Twitter were convinced that the latter was aimed at Karlie after listening to the lyrics which read, “When the words of a sister come back in whispers/ That prove she was not, in fact, what she seemed/ Not a twin from your dreams/ She’s a crook who was caught.”
One speculated, “Wait…did Taylor Swift diss former ‘best friend forever’ Karlie Kloss on ‘it’s time to go’ ?” Another chimed in, “taylor swift warned you that there’s nothing she does better than revenge so it really should come as no surprise how beautifully she drags both karlie, scott and scooter in the bonus tracks.” A third additionally tweeted, “i know there’s a lot going on but taylor swift released a song calling karlie kloss ‘a crook who was caught.’ ”
While Taylor did not offer more details about her friendship with Karlie, the two have been rumored to be embroiled in a feud multiple times. Speculations first arose when the “Willow” songstress did not include the model in her music video for “Look What You Made Me Do”. She also did not attend the model’s wedding to businessman Joshua Kushner.
Although Karlie denied the beef speculations in March 2019, the rumors refused to die down. They resurfaced in June the same year after Taylor was once again absent from the former Victoria’s Secret Angel’s second wedding celebration. Among the guests were Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and the Grammy-winning artist’s music rival Scooter Braun.
