  • Kaitlyn Bristowe 'So Glad' She Wasn't Picked for Juan Pablo Galavis' Season of 'The Bachelor'

    Instagram

Kaitlyn, who prior to starring in season 11 of ‘The Bachelorette’ competed for Whitney Bischoff’s love in season 19 of ‘The Bachelor’, reveals that she initially signed up for season 18 of ‘The Bachelor’.
    Sep 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kaitlyn Bristowe almost competed for Juan Pablo Galavis’ heart in his season of “The Bachelor”. Although her audition for season 18 back in 2014 didn’t work out, the former leading lady of “The Bachelorette” didn’t have any regret.
“I’m just so glad nobody picked me for his season,” Kaitlyn told host Chris Harrison in the Monday, September 7 episode of “The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!” “I remember making my video, being like ‘I can’t wait to meet Camila!’ Then at the end [of the season] I was like ‘Whew!’ ”
Kaitlyn, who prior to starring in season 11 of “The Bachelorette” competed for Whitney Bischoff’s love in season 19 of “The Bachelor”, wasn’t a fan of Juan and how he treated Clare Crawley. “Worst Bachelor ever,” said Kaitlyn of Juan. “I feel bad saying that, but what comes to mind is he just wasn’t what America wants to see in a man.”
Referring to when Juan told Clare, “I love f***ing you, but I don’t know you,” the “Dancing with the Stars” contestant went on to say, “It was disgusting.” She added, “I just feel like the way a man speaks to a woman — it’s a respect thing. When that’s what happens when the cameras are off, I don’t know why she didn’t run as fast as she could.”
Prior to this, Kaitlyn opened up about the criticism she received over her physical appearance which eventually took a toll in her. Showing her vulnerable side on Instagram Stories by sharing a picture of herself crying, she wrote on Saturday, September 5, “I forgot how mean people are when you go on TV.”
“Just so many ‘She looks so old and plastic’ comments everywhere. You win today trolls. It got to me,” she continued.
The TV star, who is set to compete for the Mirrorball Trophy in upcoming season 29 of “Dancing with the Stars”, further elaborated her feelings in a follow-up video. “I had a good cry, didn’t somehow ruin my eyeliner,” she shared. “I honestly am so tired that anything will set me off right now, plus I am PMSing so great combo.”
“But I felt my feelings. I got it out, sometimes I like to be honest on here but not always be ‘woo, happy,’ ” she continued. “I had a weak moment, cried it out, felt it all, now poured myself a glass of wine, and remember what’s important in life.”

The Nastiest Breakups in 'Bachelor' Franchise History

Several couples are indeed born from the franchise, but fans of the series also witness that some of the couples end their romantic relationship in the most brutal way possible.
    Jul 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Bachelor” and its spin-offs are TV shows that allow people to find love while being captured on small screen.. Several long-lasting couples were indeed born from the franchise, but fans of the series also witnessed that some of the couple ended their romantic relationship in the most brutal way possible.
Fans of the ABC dating show might remember when authorities were involved in a drama between one couple as one of them physically assaulted the other. Another couple, meanwhile, blasted each other publicly in an infamous sitdown interview with the show’s host Chris Harrison. One nasty breakup that fans could never forget was when a bachelor also heartlessly broke up with his fiancee to be with the runner-up of his season.
Taking a walk down memory lane of these scandalous moments, here are the messiest breakups in “Bachelor” franchise history.

    1. Josh Murray and Amanda Stanton
    ABC/Rick Rowell

Josh Murray and Amanda Stanton met in season three of “Bachelor in Paradise” and quickly hit it off as she accepted his proposal at the end of the show. However, their relationship ended in January 2017. They did rekindle in February only to dramatically break up again.
Amanda exposed Josh in an exclusive interview with E! News, talking about the “red flags” she noticed while dating him and how the breakup affected her daughters. In response to that, Josh said in a statement, “I just want Amanda to stop lying about me, stop speaking to the press about me, and for Amanda and her friends to stop trying to cyber bully me.” Their nasty breakup didn’t only get the two of them involved as his personal assistant Hayley Watts spoke out against Amanda in a separate interview in which she claimed that Amanda accused her of stealing her iPad.

    2. Michael Stagliano and Holly Durst
    ABC/Rick Rowell

The drama between on-and-off couple Michael Stagliano and Holly Durst, who appeared together in season 2 of “Bachelor Pad” back in 2011, started after Holly was wavered by fellow contestant Blake Julian. While Michael Stagliano won “Bachelor Pad” with his former fiancee Holly, he was left heartbroken when the latter dropped a bombshell revelation in the live finale.
Michael and the viewers were stunned when Holly and Blake announced they were engaged during the episode. “I was caught off guard, humiliated,” Michael admitted to PEOPLE at the time. “I know neither Holly nor Blake wanted it to go down like that. I’m now even more thankful for the talk we had two weeks ago, which provided closure I didn’t have before. If we hadn’t had that, it would have been so much worse tonight. I might have just walked off stage.”

    3. Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi
    ABC/Brendel

Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi might think they had the best experience from “The Bachelor” back in 2010. They seemed to think they were for each other with Jake proposing to Vienna at the end of the season. However, their romance was quick to take a nasty turn because they split in June of the same year and things were a downhill from there.
In a special episode of “The Bachelorette”, the former lovers called each other names with Vienna telling Jake, “You are a fame w***e is what you are,” to which he responded, “I’m disgusted with you.” He also accused her of undermining him. Meanwhile, Vienne claimed that he treated her like a child and was mean to her.

    4. Jason Mesnick and Melissa Rycroft
    ABC

Jason Mesnick and Melissa Rycroft’s dramatic split unsurprisingly was among the messiest breakups in “The Bachelor” franchise history. In his season of “The Bachelor”, Jason decided to pick Melissa over Molly Malaney after asking his family for an input. However, he realized later on that he made the wrong choice.
During the “After the Final Rose” special, he came clean about it. He told Chris that he “can’t stop thinking about Molly” and that he wanted a proposal do-over. Melissa was unsurprisingly pissed over the revelation and called him “a bastard.” The dramatic split aside, it all worked out in the end. Jason and Molly are married with two kids, while Melissa is happily married to Tye Strickland with whom she shares three children.

    5. Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray
    ABC

His split from Amanda Stanton wasn’t the first time for Josh Murray to experience a bitter breakup in Bachelor Nation. Prior to being with Amanda, Josh was engaged to Andi Dorfman whom he proposed to in season 10 finale of “The Bachelorette”. However, nine months after making it official, the couple called off their engagement.
Andi detailed her split from Josh in her book titled “It’s Not Okay: Turning Heartbreak Into Happily Ever After” in which she said that Josh was sometimes “an emotional abuser.” “That one sexual escapade [with runner-up Nick Viall] would become a power play used by my fiance to justify his mistrust in me. It would be an excuse to call me a whore. And it would eventually lead to the demise of my engagement,” Andi wrote. Josh denied all of her claims when he was on “Bachelor in Paradise”.

    6. Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado
    ABC

Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado got together in a November 2004 finale of “The Bachelor”, but instead of the moment of Byron proposing to Velvick, it was when Mary was arrested for assaulting Byron that most “Bachelor” fans would remember the most. The altercation took place the night after they appeared in a “Bachelor” reunion episode in November 2007.
According to authorities, she punched Byron in the mouth and was under the influence of alcohol when she was arrested. Despite the assault, they managed to put their differences aside and stay together, but then called it quits for good in 2009.

    7. Juan Pablo and Clare Crawley
    ABC

Juan Pablo broke Clare Crawley’s heart on “Bachelor Winter Games” with the meanest thing a man could ever say to a woman. In the season, Juan chose Nikki Ferrell over Clare after Andi Dorfman left the show. As if being dumped wasn’t enough to hurt Clare, Juan told him why he didn’t choose her.
Despite basically having sex with him in the ocean, it wasn’t enough to make Juan to say that he loved Clare. However, he did say to her that he “loved f***ing” her.” What a way to crush someone’s heart.

    8. Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul
    ABC

Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul found love on “Bachelor in Paradise” season one in 2014 and got married in the season two premiere. It might look like a fairy tale, until it was actually revealed that they never legally wed. Marcus said that Lacy “changed” after they came back from the show and “stalled” things when they “were supposed to start the paperwork.”
He then accused Lacy of ghosting him, saying she became “a runaway bride.” He shared in an interview in 2016, “It became a toxic relationship at times. She was very controlling. I was more of an appeasing person. I wouldn’t want to fight. There were a lot of barriers that we couldn’t overcome. I think that that made her change her mind.”

    9. Robby Hayes and Amanda Stanton
    ABC/Paul Hebert

Robby Hayes and Amanda Stanton might be loving each other at some points, but they failed to end their relationship nicely. The former “Bachelor in Paradise” couple came at each other’s throat with Robby humiliating his ex by sharing on Twitter her private texts in which he praised Amanda for her “new tits.”
Additionally, Robby dragged Amanda in a lengthy statement on Twitter. “History is repeatedly showing that some people thrive off of using the media and their ‘army’ to manipulate viewers to place one-sided blame, constantly play the ‘victim’ and use their friends to try and assassinate one’s character. Your story-line is getting OLD; at some point it’s just on YOU to stop living a double-life, and at this point, everyone sees through it,” so he wrote in the 2018 tweet.

    10. Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Becca Kufrin
    ABC/Paul Hebert

The way Arie Luyendyk Jr. broke up with his then-fiancee Becca Kuffrin was really something else. The leading man of season 22 of “The Bachelor” proposed to Becca after sending runner-up Lauren Burnham home, only to later realize that his heart was actually for Lauren instead of Becca.
Rather unsurpringly, Arie opted to dump Becca on-camera just weeks after filming the finale to pursue his love for Lauren. Becca later confronted the realtor in “After the Final Rose”, asking him why he proposed to her if he wasn’t fully sure of his own feelings. Arie blamed “the pressure of being The Bachelor,” explaining, “[The pressure of] knowing there’s a timeline and having to make the decision on that day.”

Ben Higgins Owns Up to His Failure in Standing Up for Olivia Caridi on 'The Bachelor'

    Instagram

‘The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!’ host Chris Harrison also issues an apology to the season 20 alum who admitted to being ashamed of herself after being portrayed as a villain on the show.
    Jun 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ben Higgins is trying to make amend with one of the most memorable contestants on his season of “The Bachelor”. When Olivia Caridi made an appearance on the Monday, June 22, episode of “The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons – Ever!”, the Bachelor Nation alum joined in to express his regret for not standing up for her.
Speaking to the former news anchor via video chat, the season 20 lead stated, “As I look back on that time, I think my lack of wisdom and maturity in standing up for you publicly while I knew this was hard for you.” He added, “I think the way I navigated the confrontations and the issues on the show could have been better to help you. But mostly I just wanted to speak to you and say ‘I’m sorry.’ ”
Higgins then sent a special message to viewers. “Come on. This girl is a rock star. She laid her heart on the line for love and she tried her best. And you know what? Yes, it didn’t come off perfectly all the time, but none of us did,” he pleaded. “And that’s the beauty of the show is we lay our hearts out there and we do things to make people laugh and to join in on this experience and that’s what Olivia did.”
“And so if we can’t wrap our arms around Olivia and say, ‘Well done, and we’ll lift you up, and we’re just happy you did this,’ then you’re crazy,” the 31-year-old went on to say, before once again claiming responsibility for the difficulties she faced post-the show. “So, Olivia, I’m sorry. I take responsibility for this, but I also just wanna tell everybody how awesome you are.”
Caridi joined the Monday episode to share what it was like for her after being branded the villain of Higgins’ season. “I watched the first episode, and then I tried to watch the second, and I just couldn’t do it,” she told host Chris Harrison. “I was just mortified and hurt, and all these girls are saying this and that about me, and I realized this is going to be a really hard couple of months, or however long it airs.”
“There was so much pain associated with it. I felt terrible that I had hurt people. I never wanted to, but obviously it was clear that I did, and so that hurt,” the 27-year-old went on. “And then seeing what people really thought of me and what people were saying, that was really hard. I’m sure a lot of it was deserved, but I did feel like some of it was a little ruthless. And it affected me.”
Caridi confessed that the “making fun of my physical attributes that I can’t change” took a toll on her self-esteem. She became “ashamed of myself and embarrassed” as the season progressed. “I didn’t want to be out in public,” she recounted. “Then when I was out in public, people were [whispering]. Nothing prepares you for that.”
While admitting that the experience was awful for her, Caridi insisted that she did not regret going through it. “The person that I am now is just so resilient and empathetic and compassionate towards all people. It’s been four years and I have struggled hard to become the person that I am today, but I am proud,” she said, “and I’m not ashamed anymore, because I know that I’m not that person.”
Caridi’s candid confession prompted Harrison to also issue an apology of his own. “I hate to hear this,” the 48-year-old TV host stated. “I truly am sorry that you had to go through this and that you did go through this.”

Mike Johnson Reacts to Matt James Being Announced as First Black Bachelor

    Instagram

The announcement of Matt being the lead of upcoming season 25 is a big surprise for fans since many thought that if the show would have a black lead, that would be Mike.
    Jun 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Amid criticism over a lack of diversity, “The Bachelor” is making a change. The show announced on Friday, June 12 that real estate broker Matt James will be the next lead in upcoming season 25, marking the first black male to lead the ABC dating show in the franchise’s history.
“It’s official…your next Bachelor is @mattjames919!” so the popular reality show announced on Instagram. During his appearance on “Good Morning America”, Matt revealed that his first reaction when he got the call was, “Does this mean that I don’t get to meet [Clare Crawley]? ‘Cause I want to meet Clare.”
When asked if his casting means a lasting change on the show, the 28-year-old said, “I think this is a step in the right direction. When [Rachel Lindsay] speaks, we listen. She has a very important voice in all of this, being the first black woman, person of colour to have a lead. I think we’re all following suit in that conversation, and this is hopefully… the first of many black men to be in the position that I’m in now (sic).”

The announcement was a big surprise for fans since many thought that if “The Bachelor” would have a black lead, that would be Mike Johnson. Mike himself had shared a reaction to it with a video that he uploaded on his Instagram account on Friday.
Looking smiley, the 32-year-old Air Force veteran said, “What’s up beautiful people, it’s me Mike. I just want to give a huge shout out to Matt James as the new Bachelor. Congratulations bruh. I texted him earlier and show him love and shout him out publicly as well.”
He went on saying, “I also want to give a huge shout out to ABC. They listened to us…I’m giving you a shout out as the fans. Love you guys so much. They listened to you guys. Your voices are definitely being heard. Give yourself a pat on the back, seriously, that’s amazing.”

“Don’t feel bad for me at all. I am just so elated,” he then told his fans. “I have so many things coming down the pipeline. Just quite honestly, be happy, baby. Don’t say nothing bad about my homie. Matt’s gonna do a great job… we got a black lead which is an amazing thing.”

'The Bachelor' Announces Matt James as First Black Male Lead

    ABC

Matt James becomes the first ever black male lead in the dating show’s 18-year history as he is set to front the upcoming 25th run of the reality television series.
    Jun 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – The bosses of popular U.S. dating show “The Bachelor” have picked their first black hunk to lead the new season.
New York realtor Matt James, 28, will make history when he fronts the 25th run of the show, which has been on air for almost 20 years.
He was picked as a contestant on the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette”, which was forced to halt production due to the coronavirus pandemic, but when fans called for more diversity on the show he was upgraded to “The Bachelor”.
“Matt has been on our radar since February…,” a statement from ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke reads. “When filming (on The Bachelorette) couldn’t move forward as planned, we were given the benefit of time to get to know Matt and all agreed he would make a perfect Bachelor.”
“We know we have a responsibility to make sure the love stories we’re seeing onscreen are representative of the world we live in and we are proudly in service to our audience.”
She continued, “This is just the beginning and we will continue to take action with regard to diversity issues on this franchise.”
“We feel so privileged to have Matt as our first black Bachelor and we cannot wait to embark on this journey with him.”

In the 18 years of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” franchise, there has only been one black lead – Rachel Lindsay starred as “The Bachelorette” in 2017. She was among the former stars who signed a fan-based petition urging series bosses to cast a black Bachelor.
During an appearance on “Good Morning America” on Friday, June 12, 2020, James said, “When Rachel speaks, we listen. She has a very important voice in all of this, being the first black woman, person of colour to have a lead. I think we’re all following suit in that conversation, and this is hopefully… the first of many black men to be in the position that I’m in now (sic).”
The new season of “The Bachelor” will air next year 2021.

'The Bachelor: LTYH' Recap: 7 Couples Show Off Talent and Chemistry in Musical Performances

    ABC

In the new episode, the remaining couples are hitting the stage to perform in front of special guests, including ‘The Bachelorette’ alum JoJo Fletcher, Jordan Rodgers, Ke$ha and Jason Mraz.
    Apr 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Bachelor Present: Listen to Your Heart” returned with a new episode on Monday, April 27. In the new outing, the contestants were told that they would be performing for special guests, including “The Bachelorette” alum JoJo Fletcher, Jordan Rodgers, Ke$ha and Jason Mraz. The couples would be judged on their chemistry as well as their perfomance with the judges deciding who got to stay in the competition.
In the episode, Julia confronted Brandon after he picked Savannah at the rose ceremony even though he previously told Julia that he wanted to be with her. Brandon explained to her that he knew Sheridan would give his rose to Julia so he wanted to give a chance to Savannah. He assured Julia that he still wanted to pursue their relationship. Meanwhile, Savannah was starting to doubt Brandon.
Meanwhile, Gabe was interested in Savannah but unfortunately his feelings weren’t reciprocated. After she let him know about it, it meant Gabe was ready to go home. He told Ruby who later decided to exit the show together with him.
Savannah later confronted Brandon about what Julia told her. He apologized for not conveying his real feelings earlier, telling her that he wanted to move forward with her. Julia was upset when she knew about it, but then she planned to focus on her and Sheridan’s relationship. With that, the remaining 7 couples were Savannah/Brandon, Julia/Sheridan, Bri/Chris, Jamie/Trevor, Matt/Rudi, Danny/Bekah and Ryan/Natascha.
Savannah and Brandon grew stronger day by day and that was distracting Julia. She thought that they were faking their chemistry and even accused Savannah of being “disingenuous.” Feeling equally pissed at Julia, Savannah called her “catty and insecure” in confessional.
Prior to the performances, Danny and Bekah went on a date during which they had a sexy photo shoot. Later, Natascha and Ryan met Chris Lane and his wife Lauren Bushnell. The couple joined Chris in a performance at his sold-out show.
The night where the couples hit the stage to perform later arrived. First up were Matt and Rudi, who opted to sing Shawn Mendes’ “Falling All In You”. Following it up were Chris and Bri who performed a “beautiful” rendition of “Beyond” by Leon Bridges. Meanwhile, the judges saw Bekah and Danny, who sang “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers, as “just friends” rather than a couple after Bekah turned down his kiss at the end of their performance.
Also not showing great chemistry was Savannah and Brandon, who took the stage to perform “I Want You to Want Me” by Cheap Trick. As for Julia and Sheridan, who sang “As Long as You Love Me” by the Backstreet Boys, the judges noted that the two had a sense of comfort and connection.
Natascha and Ryan were unrivaled in terms of both talent and chemistry with their performance of Rihanna’s “Stay”. Concluding the night, Jamie and Trevor sang “I Could Use a Love Song” by Maren Morris.
At the rose ceremony, every couple got a rose from the judges except for Danny and Bekah. That meant the two were eliminated.

'The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart' Recap: 3 Ladies Are Eliminated

    ABC

In the new episode of the ‘Bachelor’ spin-off series, host Chris Harrison announces to the remaining contestants that there will be more newcomers later at the next rose ceremony.
    Apr 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart” returned with a new episode on Monday, April 20. In the second episode, there were eight men and eight women left, with Bri & Chris, Bekah & Danny and Jamie & Trevor among the solid couples. However, host Chris Harrison announced that there would be more newcomers later at the next rose ceremony.
The episode saw Jamie getting the first date card, and she picked Trevor. They went to Venice Beach where they performed a romantic duet of “Girl Crush” on the boardwalk. Meanwhile at the mansion, first newbie Natascha arrived. Making things interesting was the fact that Natascha is friends with one of Trevor’s exes.
She confronted Trevor as soon as he and Jamie went back at the mansion. She asked him about the cheating allegations leveled against him, but he denied. Travor claimed he never “physically cheated,” but he did “emotionally cheat” and lie. Other girls, meanwhile, told Jamie what was going on, prompting her to break down in tears.
The next contestant to get the date card was Bri and she unsurprisingly chose Chris to go with her. They opted to go to Guitar Center and the date saw them connecting even further. At some point, Bri told Chris about her ex breaking off their engagement last year. She also said to Chris that she thought she was falling in love with him, and Chris assured her that he felt the same.
Later, Trevor decided to come clean to Jamie about his past relationship. Jamie, who previously said to him that she was cheated on by her ex, was sad but she choose to keep the past in the past and focus on the future with Trevor.
Julia, meanwhile, was in dilemma because of Sheridan and Brandon. Sheridan and Julia went on a date later as they appeared on a morning radio show and performed a duet of “The Bones” for the listeners. During the date, they also had a kiss.
Another two new girls, Mariana and Ruby, arrived, with the former setting her eyes on Brandon almost immediately. Savannah was worried and when she got the next date card, she asked Brandon to go with her and he gladly accepted. They enjoyed the night at a jazz club and even performed together there.
Meanwhile, Ryan and Natascha hit it off. Ryan and other contestant Rudi also had a steamy moment as they shared a kiss. However, Rudi didn’t think she had a chemistry with him so she went for Matt instead.
At the rose ceremony, Chris gave his rose to Bri with Trevor giving his to Jamie. Ryan chose Natascha and Matt picked Rudi. Meanwhile, Danny went stronger with Bekah and Brandon presented his rose to Savannah. That made Sheridan choose Julia. That meant Mel, Mariana and Cheyenne were eliminated. However, it seemed like Brandon made things complicated when he told Julia that he was happy that she’s still around.
