Coronation Street fans will finally find out what happened on the night of Seb Frankin’s brutal murder next week.
On the eve of the trial, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) is unnerved when a piece of music transports her back to the last day of her late boyfriend’s life.
Upon hearing from Roy Cropper (David Neilson) that fragments of Nina’s memory are resurfacing, Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) gets an idea and brings to the cafe the bag of items found on Seb’s body.
Among the various bits and bobs, Nina’s struck by the sight of a plastic heart ring and remembers Seb giving it to her.
Nina decides to retrace her and Seb’s steps and takes Abi, Summer Spellman ( Harriet Bibby) and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) with her to the wasteland where they encountered Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson).
In a series of specially shot reconstruction scenes, the audience is taken back to the night of Seb’s attack and the truth about what happened is revealed to viewers and to a distraught Nina as her memory returns.
Meanwhile, Kelly and Corey prepare for the trial and Imran plays mind games with an over confident Sabeen with both lawyers confident their own client is telling the truth, but which one is?
As her recollection of the evening comes to an end Nina cries having remembered her last moments with Seb and vows to go to the police to tell them what happened that night.
As Corey and Kelly’s trial gets underway Nina decides to readopt her goth look as no one deserves to be persecuted for the way they look.
Nina tells the court how she remembers seeing Corey kicking Seb repeatedly and Kelly begging him to stop. However when Sabeen cross examines her, will Nina’s story stand up?
Corey later takes the stand and lies through his teeth, claiming Kelly viciously attacked Seb as he tried to stop her.
He paints himself as the victim, telling the court how Kelly’s dad is a gangster and she threatened to have him killed if he reported her to the police.
Tommy Orpington takes the witness box later in the week and gives Corey a glowing character reference.
Outside court, Abi launches a verbal attack on Corey’s dad Stefan, accusing him of trying to buy Corey’s innocence with bribes.
Stefan denies it but it’s clear he’s rattled. Determined Abi searches his social media accounts, will she find any proof?
Elsewhere in Weatherfield, when Curtis Delamere reveals that he’s got a hospital appointment later to get his test results, Emma Brooker offers to go with him.
However when he suddenly collapses unconscious behind the bar at the Bistro an ambulance is called.
In the hospital, the doctor tells Curtis they’d like to keep him in overnight and run some more tests. But Curtis reckons it’s a waste of time. Back at the flat, a struggling Emma has a shock announcement for Curtis.
Also, Fiz and Tyrone take a reluctant Hope to her first therapy session Hope explains to the psychologist how she started the fire because she felt sad when her Daddy left and people are always leaving her. Fiz and Tyrone listen, heartbroken.
When Alina reveals she’s booked a trip to Romania so he can meet her family, Tyrone’s heart sinks, aware he can’t leave Hope at such a crucial time.
