Ex-Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole accidentally sliced his Dancing On Ice partner Vanessa Bauer’s back in a freak accident at training.
The pair were practicing for the upcoming series, due to air in January, when he gave her the injury.
Before their session, Vanessa showed off their rehearsal location at Alexandra Palace ice rink: “Nice change of venue today.”
In the next post, she showed her followers the cut that Brendan gave her, captioned: “Got Brendan Cole’s blade in my back…Dancing On Ice is really a bit dangerous…”
Brendan responded by turning the camera to himself and saying “Bad Brendan” before Vanessa joined him and they both frowned at the camera.
All was in good spirits between the pair as the next Instagram story showed them in the back of a taxi as Brendan pierced the top of his first ever bubble tea.
The pair had attended the ITV Palooza the night before their skating practice where 25-year-old Vanessa wowed the crowd in red.
She posted a picture of her outfit saying: “5 years with ITV and forever grateful for being blessed enough to live my childhood dreams. Thank you ITV Palooza and Dancing On Ice.”
The professional ice skater wore a strappy red dress with a plunging neckline, revealing leg slit and a matching red bag with her dark hair in a loose updo style.
Brendan, 45, won Strictly Come Dancing’s first ever series with newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky and was an original cast member since the show began in 2004.
The New Zealand born professional dancer announced he was leaving the show in 2018 after 15 years, claiming that the BBC had made an ‘editorial decision’ not to renew his contract.
The opinionated dancer thinks that the axing is a result of his strong views as he often defends his partners in front of the judges and said in an interview that he “always knew this day would come” but he would never be told “the ins and outs.”
