Elle Macpherson has opened up about her secret battle with cancer.
The 60 year old supermodel recently revealed that she was diagnosed with the disease in 2017 and has chosen not to undergo chemotherapy, despite medical advice from 32 doctors. Instead, Elle has decided to trust her body’s natural healing process.
In a candid interview, the Australian beauty admitted that the diagnosis left her shocked. She underwent a lumpectomy, a procedure to remove cancerous tissues from the breast.

Elle was diagnosed with HER2-positive oestrogen-receptive intraductal carcinoma seven years ago. During this period, she was in a relationship with anti-vaxxer Andrew Wakefield and made the decision to reject traditional medicine.
She expressed that she was being “true” to herself and trusting her own body. The iconic star, who is known as one of the world’s most famous and recognisable supermodels, admits to praying and meditating on a beach in Miami as she didn’t want to treat the condition with medicine, but instead “an intuitive, heart-led holistic approach”.
“It was a shock, it was unexpected,” she confessed to Women’s Weekly, adding: “It was confusing, it was daunting in so many ways and it really gave me an opportunity to dig deep in my inner sense to find a solution that worked for me.”
Elle continued: “Saying no to standard medical solutions was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. But saying no to my own inner sense would have been even harder.”
Elle opened up about her decision to shun conventional cancer treatments, admitting: “People thought I was crazy,” but she insisted that her alternative approach “resonated” with her.
During the midst of her health battle, Elle went to Phoenix, Arizona, for eight months . There, she tried “holistic treatment” while following guidance from her own doctor, naturopathy, holistic dentist, osteopath, chiropractor and two therapists.
Elle had her mind set on how she would fight the condition, although her sons Flynn, 26, and Cy, 21, were not so sure.. Her youngest son supported his famous mother while, Flynn “wasn’t comfortable” with her decision.
Their father, Ardpad ‘Arki’ Busson, also didn’t agree with Elle’s decision. However, he was sure to tell Elle that he was “proud” of her “courage”.
