Ghost hunter Yvette Fielding has revealed that she was chased by a “pair of legs” in one of her first ghostly encounters.
Fielding, 55, is well-acquainted with the spirit world after working on the likes of Most Haunted and Ghosthunting with Yvette Fielding. However, speaking to Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on This Morning, she revealed that she was the victim of a terrifying chase by an ethereal being at the beginning of her career.
Reflecting her experiences in a new book, the medium recalled how she had been followed by the spirit during her first ever time looking for a ghost. Speaking to hosts Alison and Dermot, she explained that it all began when she believed she had seen something.

Fielding revealed that the first time she had seen a ghost was when she was investigating the Theatre Royal on Drury Lane in London. During the scope-out, two other people saw what seemed to be a ghostly figure and whilst their horrified reactions were seen on camera, the ghost – unfortunately – was not.
“It was the first time I’d actually seen what I thought was a ghost,” she explained when she appeared on Thursday’s edition (February 8) of the ITV show. “It wasn’t a full ghost; it was a pair of legs – just a pair of legs.”
After discovering what seemed to be the being, she recalled how nature was calling and so she went to the loo to sort herself out. It was at that time, however, when she fell prey to the ghost’s malicious tendency.
“Never go to the loo alone,” she said. “I’ll even leave the door open to the cubicle, I don’t care who watches me, you’re not leaving me on my own!”
She added that as she was walking down the towards the end of her trip to the loo, the legs appeared again. Yvette, who was with the other two people, stopped to see the pair of legs which seemed to be as if they were walking up the stairs in slow motion.
Reflecting on her experience, she finished the story: “All three of us saw it at the same time, turned and ran.” Whilst Yvette detailed her first experience with a ghost, an artist’s impression of the story was shown that displayed how close Yvette was to the legs, although it is unknown whether the legs did chase the three out of the building.
When asked about whether any footage of the ghosts was saved, Yvette explained that there are no cameras in the toilets, which allowed the ghost to carry out its torment. Retelling the incident, Fielding described the experience as “really fascinating”.
This is not the first close call Yvette has had with the paranormal. Whilst filming an episode of Most Haunted at a house in Leeds, she recalled show she was almost stabbed by a malicious ghost.
According to Yvette, a carving knife from the kitchen had gone missing and instead found its way to be embedded in a cushion, as if it had been stabbed in. As the group later discovered, the house they were investigating was built over the ruins of a monastery and that the evil spirit was a monk – “but not a nice one”, as Fielding described.
