The BRITs at 40 special to air on ITV ahead of Jack Whitehall hosting awards next month

This year iconic British music awards The BRITs turns 40.

Over the years some of the world’s biggest stars have performed at the coveted event.

Everyone from Beyonce, Stormzy and Oasis have taken to the stage.

Away from the music there have been some seriously awkward moments over the years.

From Robbie Williams challenging Liam Gallagher to a fight in 2000, to Adele being cut off live on TV during her acceptance speech and flipping the bird, the BRITs are never drama free.

And who could forget Madonna’s iconic fall in 2015?

To celebrate the milestone birthday, ITV will air special The BRITs at 40 on February 11, featuring some of the biggest moments over the years and exclusive interviews with the stars.

Hosted by Jack Whitehall, who is once again hosting the main BRIT Awards on February 18, the show delves into the archives offers a look back at four decades from the UK’s biggest music show.

This year Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Lewis Capaldi and Mabel will all perform at the ceremony at London’s O2 Arena.

The move will be the first time Harry will have played the BRITs as a solo artist.

The One Direction legend has also bagged himself two nominations for both Album of the Year and Male Solo Artist.

Meanwhile, his former bandmate Louis Tomlinson, who released his debut album Walls this week, will play a solo set during BRITs Week Together With O2 For War Child.

The former X Factor judge will play iconic venue Scala in north London to a crowd of just 800 people on February 13.
