Noel Gallagher to release 'lost Oasis track' after snubbing Liam pleas

Noel Gallagher is planning on dropping an unearthed Oasis track on Tuesday evening after he uncovered the song during a lockdown spring clean.

With time on his hands in isolation, the 52-year-old decided to dig deep into his music archive and soon laid his hands on an old demo from the band’s glory days.

He admitted his home currently boasts hundred of CDs from his time spent in the famous Britpop group and “as fate would have it” managed to come across an unreleased track.

The moves comes after Noel snubbed his brother Liam Gallagher’s pleas for Oasis to reunite for an NHS gig.

Taking to Twitter, Noel wrote: “Hey there dudes and dollies.

“Like the rest of the world, I’ve had infinite time to kill lately so I thought I’d finally look and find out what was actually on the hundreds of faceless unmarked CDs I’ve got lying around in boxes at home.

“As fate would have it I have stumbled across an old demo which I thought had been lost forever.”

He added: “As far as I’m aware there is only one version of this tune ‘out there’ from an Oasis soundcheck in Hong Kong about 15 years ago?

I’m not sure whether the soundcheck version pre dates the demo as there’s no date on the CD. I know some of you love this tune so we thought we’d put it ‘out there’ for you to enjoy/argue over.

It’ll be up on the internet from night. The song is called: Don’t stop.

Hope everyone is staying sage and trying to ride out the lockdown with the minimum of fuss. You’re welcome, by the way.”

No doubt Noel was pleased with his Oasis find after he previously admitted the “novelty has worn off” when it comes to writing new songs while staying at home.

Speaking to Matt Morgan for his Funny How? podcast earlier this month, he said: “I think we’re going to hit a wall this week. I think three weeks is everybody’s limit.

“I can even see myself being a bit like, ‘f**ing hell another week’. Even the novelty of writing has worn off. I can’t be f**king arsed with that either”.

“I’m not particularly inspired to write anything, like a corona anthem.”
