In a resurfaced social media video from a VH1 interview, The Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger revealed that she once recorded an entire album on her own and was the only member to sing.
Nicole, 41, went on to say that her fellow bandmates Melody Thornton, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta first heard the finished album, PCD, when Nicole had finished laying down her vocals.
During the interview on VH1’s Behind The Music: Nicole Scherzinger, the Hawaiian born star also revealed that following the release of her single Baby Love, her plans to release solo music were scrapped by Interscope Records.
Her debut solo album was subsequently repackaged and presented as The Pussycat Dolls hit album, Doll Domination.
During the explosive chat, the Polynesian pop princess said: “Oh man, I hope I don’t get in trouble for the stuff that I say,
The X Factor judge continued: People don’t even know the story, I was in the centre because I was singing. I was the one singing.
“‘Cause I never really talked about it. I’ll never forget I finished the album, PCD, and Ron and I brought the girls into the studio and we played it for them.
“It was the first time they had ever heard the music, do you understand what I’m saying? We played the album for The Pussycat Dolls – it was the first time they’d ever heard the songs.”
Later in the documentary, former Pussycat Dolls A&R and Producer Ron Fair went on to say: “Melody [Thornton] sang a bit here and there but the records were Nicole.
“With the exception of an occasional ad-lib but they were Nicole, they were created with her.”
Nicole went on to confirm: “I probably did 95 per cent of the album on my own.”
Pussycat Dolls member Ashley Roberts later appeared during a piece-to-camera saying: “I love Nicole to pieces but she’s intense, I think that we all wanted to have a voice for ourselves.”

Soon after the video resurfaced on social media, fans instantly flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One fan tweeted: “Pussycat Dolls were a burlesque group and Nicole was brought in for the vocals. PCD were always more of a brand than a band. But a brand that worked.”
A second went on to add: “But let’s talk about the fact that Melody wanted to sing more and she was not allowed to!!
“And she wasn’t a dancer when she got in the group, she was actually only a singer and they turned her into a dancer only. She was only allowed to do some ad-libs here and there.”
A third fan tweeted: “Let’s face it Nicole wanted a solo career, but the PCD formula worked because of the visuals as much as the vocal stylings of Nicole.”
