Pop star James Blunt is known for being quick off the mark when it comes to his comedy comebacks to critics, but now he’s made himself the joke.
The singer-songwriter has fans in hysterics, after he announced an album and tour in his own unique way.
He’s best known for smash-hit single You’re Beautiful, and the emotional ballad from 2005 sold over 3.6million copies around the world.
It went to number one and stayed there for five weeks.
James, 47, told The Sun: “Amazingly, I’m releasing my Greatest Hits.
“I wanted to call it Greatest Hit (& Songs I Wish You’d Heard) but the good people at Atlantic Records suggested I call it something more sensible.”
Instead, he called it The Stars Beneath My Feet (2004 to 2021), and has announced a tour next year too to promote the album.
The sharp-tongued singer is known for his witty comebacks if ever somebody is mean to him on social media.
In addition to the overwhelming success of You’re Beautiful, all of James’s six albums has entered the Top 10.
His debut Back to Bedlam and follow up, All the Lost Souls, reached No1.
The Greatest Hits album itself will include 30 tracks and feature live performances.
As well as his album and tour, it was announced last week that James is moving into the world of television presenting.
It’s reported that a new reality competition is being produced for James to present.
The show will feature small breweries fighting it out to be crowned the makers of the best pint.
An insider told The Sun: “James owns his own boozer, The Fox & Pheasant in London, and is a bit of a beer connoisseur. The main premise of the series is going to be showcasing some of the best small breweries in the world.”
James and his wife bought the 17th century Chelsea pub in 2018 and spent 18 months renovating it.
