Kate Garraway could not hide her glee on Monday’s Good Morning Britain after husband Derek was released home to his family last week.
Flashing a huge smile, the presenter emotionally told viewers she’d be “racing home” to her beloved Derek to cherish every moment with him.
The 53-year-old’s husband was hospitalised for over a year, due to his long Covid battle, which wreaked havoc on his internal organs.
Derek is now reunited with his loved ones in their family home and they all couldn’t be happier.

Kate appeared on Monday’s show alongside co-host Susanna Reid.
Well wishes had flooded in all day for Kate and Derek, including support from former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
The newsreader and Derek share two children together, Darcey, 15, and 11-year-old William, who is also known as “Billy”.
As the programme was about to wrap up, Susanna asked her friend how the children had reacted to their father returning.
To which Kate replied: “It dawned on them daddy was actually here.”
She added that her son Billy had said: “Mummy can we take a moment – he’s still home.”

Looking very chirpy and in great spirits, Kate added: “It’s wonderful to have him here.”
With a huge smile, she explained: “He’s got people looking after him and I will be racing back.”
Speaking about the family reunion earlier on in the show, the ITV starlet told viewers: “It’s extraordinary. We are over the moon and overwhelmed.
“It’s like when you first bring home your first born home and you’ve been planning for nine months.”
