Voting figures have revealed the top favourites to make it to this year’s Strictly Come Dancing final, including Tom Fletcher as the winner.
Four celebrities are tipped to make it to the final in December, including Strictly’s first all-male couple, Great British Bake Off star John Whaite and professional dancer Johannes Radebe.
Tom and Amy had an overwhelming 19.1% of last week’s home voting numbers, despite other couples topping the leader boards.
Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis and rumoured couple AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington are both consistently reaching the heights of the Strictly leaderboard every week, but as far as last week’s vote goes, viewers could see a win from Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden.
According to the leaked numbers, Olympic athlete Adam Peaty and Katya Jones are also a fan-favourite with home viewers – however they were in the dreaded dance off on Sunday.
The McFly singer Tom Fletcher and his partner are listed as the favourites to win despite failing to impress the judges in Saturday’s Halloween special episode.
Tom and Amy performed the Tango whilst dressed in black leather outfits sporting red face paint and horns, but the pop star suffered a microphone mishap.
Tom lost the device midway through the routine as they danced to Highway To Hell by AC/DC.
Amy appeared to struggle getting up from the floor as Tom’s microphone went missing.
Host Tess Daly praised the couple for overcoming their blunder, saying: “Well done for carrying on. It is live and these things do happen, so you picked it up and you carried on.”
Judge Anton Du Beke gave his criticisms to the dancers: “Unfortunately this wasn’t your best week. I can see your improvement through the weeks but this was just a bit loose.”
Tom and Amy have a friendship outside the show as shown by Tom’s recent Instagram post.
He shared a video of his sons dancing with his Strictly partner Amy, and captioned it: “That’s the kids’ entertainment sorted for half term,” to which Amy replied: “My dancing dudes!”
Tom is married to author Giovanna Fletcher who has been presenting on CBeebies since 2019 and won series 20 of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
He initially proposed to Giovanna when they met at theatre school aged 13, but he actually popped the question in 2011 and they were married the following year.
The couple have three boys, Buzz, Buddy and Max.
