Entertaining fans with his undeniable wit and punchy one-liners actor Paul Barber quickly became a favourite when he played the role of Denzil Tulser in popular British comedy, Only Fools and Horses.
Often falling for Del Boy’s mischievous schemes, Denzil portrayed an easy-going lorry driver who hailed from Liverpool.
But now, almost 20 years on since the show came to an end, actor Paul looks completely different from his Only Fools days.
Now aged 70, the iconic actor who previously sported a shorter hairstyle while in the show is considerably greyer and appears to have a matching grey beard too.
In 2002, the star was seen sporting a long-haired dreadlock look.
However, the star isn’t the only star to have transformed since the end of the show, as actors Mickey Pearce, Damien Trotter and Raquel Turner all appearing significantly different since, too.
Paul appeared in the popular comedy from 1981 until 2003.
Since the show ended, the actor went on to make a small cameo in the BBC’s Tracy Beaker spin-off series The Dumping Ground.
During the series, Paul played a homeless man named George who the kids at the Elmtree House took a liking to and ended up taking him under their wing.
He also starred in the 2014 film One Night in Istanbul where he played a cabbie who is down on his luck but things change when he his friend Tommy strikes a deal with a local gangster.
Interestingly, Paul also has a link to Hollywood star Idris Elba who previously claimed that Paul inspired him to become an actor.
The Only Fools star paid a visit to a drama class that Idris was in and ended up changing the trajectory of his life.
Speaking about the events that took place in his younger days, Idris told The Daily Mail: “This professional actor came in. His name was Paul Barber. He came in and sat amongst us and, you know, we recognised him from TV and it was a big moment.”
Elba added: “He sat in our class and talked to us about his profession, who he was.
“I just remember thinking ‘Wow man’, he didn’t know it, but he really, really inspired me to become an actor.”
